Use this app to scan an item and get an immediate response about its animal testing status. Cruelty-Cutter is the most up-to-date and vigilant cruelty-free list on the market.
Cruelty-Cutter is also your activist app! Once you scan a product's barcode, share the results on social media and also share your concern or praise with the company itself. Companies that still choose to test on animals will get the message that Cruelty-Cutter users are against what they are doing, while companies that chose NOT to test will receive your praise!
Cruelty-Cutter allows you to register your concern and help collect data to bring to companies that test on animals showing them that the public is not interested in supporting companies that continue to use animals when it is not needed, not required, and most of all, not ethical.

Version 3.0.1
The scanning features have been updated for the newer iOS devices and the user interface has been completely refactored to make it even easier to determine whether the product you are purchasing is tested on animals. The app immediately shows you whether the product scanned is cruelty-free or not. The product display contains links so you can easily contact those parties responsible for determining whether the product is tested on animals. You can email or use their social links for praise or to express your concern about their business practices. If the product you scanned was tested on animals, you'll see a list of other companies that offer similar products and be quickly able to select a cruelty-free alternative.
Additionally, you can now search for products by brand name, as well as by company name to find whether the item you are planning to buy is cruelty-free.
The database is continuing to expand rapidly and information is available for products in over 100 countries.
Got questions? Simple communications links enable you to send messages to our customer support team to get additional product and company information.

Thank you very much for taking your time to leave a review! Your comment about being unable to remove a rating is a little confusing. The app provides information about whether a company has used lab testing when producing a brand or product. If you disagree with the rating ("cruelty free" , "tested on animals" or "unknown - waiting response from producer"), please do use the "feedback" option in the app to contact our customer service organization and let them know that you don't agree with the categorization. If we misunderstood your comment, could you please supply a little more information about which rating you'd like to remove?
It’s completely useless now
Can’t reset password, can’t provide feedback in the app - whenever I try to do either one after filling out all required fields it’s “Email, account Id, or password is empty.” When I go to scan anything the screen turns black. Trying to browse or search the directory is met with “Couldn’t retrieve the data.” At least the old version worked sometimes but this is TERRIBLE.
EDIT: the app dev team worked with me to figure out why I was having issues. It’s very likely account-related caching for the app on my device and creating a new account got me up and running. It’s a breath of fresh air being able to use this app again!

Thank you for your update - this may have been the most challenging issue we've seen with the app to date. The resolution required the identification of an unusual and very subtle behavior on the device and your persistence (and patience) working with the dev team was key in figuring out what the issue was. The findings from this investigation benefit the app, the users and ultimately (of course) the effort to end the use of animals for unnecessary lab testing. Thank you again for your help!

I love this but can a developer pls write a review because it said that toms of maine toothpaste is not cruelty free even though it is leaping bunny certified? Please explain
Thanks for replying I love this app it works now. Maybe make the app work a bit better. My dad is a software engineer so maybe he can fix it. But I use this a lot so ya FIVE STARS
