This meditation and Buddha-recitation counting app was created by my husband for me. At first, it was simply because I didn’t like using a regular alarm clock during seated meditation. The sudden sound would startle me and force me to turn it off in a hurry, disturbing the calm state of mind I had finally settled into. With this app, when the time is up, it only sends a brief notification sound instead (you can set the notification sound in your phone’s Settings), so there’s no need to rush out of meditation. It also makes daily recitation more convenient—there’s no need to count with prayer beads, use a tally counter, or keep records with pen and paper. It becomes even more convenient when used together with an Apple Watch you already have. May this small app accompany you and help you remain grounded in mindful recitation. 2.
