Ratings and Reviews
[Update] Dawncaster is a Gem, Despite Minor Hiccups
Just recently purchased this debut game from Wanderlost, and I have been enjoying it greatly. It’s been awhile since I’ve played a new mobile game from a new developer, and with Dawncaster, I’m glad I gave it a chance. Although there are a few writing errors and the occasional glitch, they are (as of yet) inconsequential to the overall enjoyment of the gameplay. I’m looking forward to future updates and how this game will be further refined.
[Update: So, I’ve messed around with the difficulty settings and discovered that the “Story” setting does not work as listed. Characters still die once HP reaches 0. Needs addressing.]
Developer Response ,
Hello K.BT., thank you so much for the positive review! Encouraging words like these motivate us to keep improving the game on every level.
Well be looking into the bug(s) and address them in the upcoming patch later this week. If you want to point us towards any specific glitch or mistake we’d love to hear from you on our Discord.
All the best,
Cards are bugged
I’ve been playing rogue, and cards that read “will trigger ambush as if it were first card played” simply fail to trigger ambush. Lookout and the enchantment in particular (the one that will trigger ambush after gaining evasion). The enchantment only seems to work on cards that simultaneously gain evasion and ambush, but if you play a single card that gains evasion followed by a single card that has ambush, ambush will not trigger.
New bug, i saw a 5-blue mana cost appear at the start of a hag fight (just after succubus), with text saying something like “this is just a test to see how wide a card is..” something like that. Fight wouldn’t continue and game crashed. It happened just after i added a spell card to a warrior deck w/the talent that gives a zero cost copy.
Also, discord links do not work. I click on them and don’t join any channels.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for the report. We indeed had a bug with the Lookout card in patch 1.0.6. This has been resolved in the current patch along with the placeholder card showing up.
The discord link should work, if not please join us here https://discord.gg/pfeMG9c should you require any further assistance. Thank you for playing!
Dawncaster has confirmed that looks can be deceiving!
When I first saw this app in the App Store and saw that it wasn’t a free app I thought to myself I’m not sure if it’ll be fun (most paid games in my opinion aren’t) but I gave it a try anyways. As I played more and more I began seeing just how much of a gem this game is.
The game is well balanced and so incredibly fun. For a mobile game I think it well deserves a 5 star rating. I found myself playing this game for a few hours on end. It’s thrilling and entertaining at the same time. This was well worth the money!
