Best of Apple Arcade

It feels weird to think of this as a game, because it feels more like... fun mental exercise. I don't have very many games on my iPhone or iPad, and my Mac has a more but still not a ton. This, however, easily earns a place on all three of those devices for me.I really like that I can choose whether I want to relax (most of the time) or kick it up to speed reading for a real challenge (rarely) depending on my mood. Whether I'm playing a title I haven't read before or one I have from cover to cover, it's an extremly enjoyable experience! I don't have proof of improved reading comprehension yet, but I feel like there must be a positive effect of all this.My one suggestion would be to allow us to play an "arcade mode" of sorts where we can choose what wordplay method we use. Even if that mode didn't award ink, or awarded far less, I'd still play it a lot. Maybe only for titles already completed in the main mode? So far I like all the wordplay methods I've unlocked, but there are a few that are a lot more fun than the others and I wish I could play with more often. The worst part? I won't be able to play anymore when my Apple Arcade trial is over at the end of February 2021. This is my only reason to renew it, and it doesn't make sense to do so until my other trials expire in October 2021 when I can get Apple One. I really wish I could buy this and own it forever without subscribing to Apple Arcade.

I can play this for hours straight and not even realize the time is passing by! It's a mental challenge that goes beyond just reading the text, and instead invites you into the passages by unscambling them. All the while, entertaining you by reading snippets from classics you know and love. If someone had said "Create an app that will make all the book nerds googly-eyed," Dear Reader is the perfect example!
A page turner indeed.

A wonderful twist on puzzle-type game. I'm not much into reading the classics, but this game opens something that I never would have touched were it not for the clever playfulness I get enjoying this game.

I play this game daily - and not just for the puzzle of the day. I love reading and to combine reading with puzzling - well, you've hit my sweet spot. I like the exploration of books that I've never heard of combined with some of my favorite classics. So why not five stars? That's because this came does not open in full screen mode on my computer, unlike every other Arcade game I play. And I can't figure out how to give this game 4 1/2 stars.
