Very important new things: - The counts are buttons now. Press the 109, get the 109 people. It used to like the post instead, which is a bold way for a number to behave. Not so important new things: - The panel they open stopped introducing itself ("Post engagement", thanks) and shows the post instead. Three grey pills became one control, and a tab greys out only when it can prove it is empty. - Quotes finally open. Nothing was counting them, so the tab you needed was the tab that refused. Now you can read the quote posts themselves, your post sitting inside each one. - Every row in those lists has a Follow button, which is why you opened the list. The rest: - Reminders are a menu on the clock. One tap instead of a whole sheet, and you can call one off now. - Fun stuff reads one account at a time, like a normal application would. - Sheets are the size of what is in them, not the size of your phone. - The compact tab bar scrolls sideways, so the tabs past the fifth exist again. Very important new things: - Still nothing. 1.9 was the big one, 1.9.1 was me sweeping up after it and this is me finding the bits the broom missed. We don't talk about the 1.9.2. Not so important new things: - The composer reads over your shoulder now. Sorta. If what you are typing looks like one language and you tagged the post as another, a little bubble pops out of that speech-bubble button and offers the one it thinks you meant. It waits until you stop typing, it takes out your handles and hashtags and links first, and it only compares the broad language, so a pt-BR post never gets nagged for being written in Portuguese. It gates nothing and stops nothing: there is an x to send it away for that language, and a switch in General for the people who write in two languages on purpose and would like the bubble to mind its business. On by default, because reasons. - The return of the paste bug: finally eliminated for good the very inconvenient emoji-picker-pasteboard-paster bug that once appeared, thought it was dead but returned as a zombie. It shared your clipboard instead for an emoji in the composer. Sometimes the file path of a picture you copied an hour ago, who knows. It reads what it was actually handed now and a file never slips in dressed up as text. The rest: - The sign-in sheet on iPad is a card again, not a sliver. It had folded itself down to a thin clipped strip with the title cropped, which is a rude way to greet someone who only wants to log in. iPad gets a proper form sheet now, the same roomy card everyone else already had. As a treat. - Your own follower count moves again, would you look at that. It turned out the number was written down once when you signed in and then never looked at again, silly me. Now the profile column asks for a fresh one every time it opens, and once more the moment you follow somebody, so it stops insisting you have exactly the friends you had on day one. - The welcome screen reads from a little further away.
