Fantastic! But...

DefleMask has been the perfect chiptune tracker for my hobby. Basically my entire secondary YouTube channel runs off of this (with some exceptions). The SEGA Genesis and Neo Geo tools are the highlight, as working with FM has been a very fun experience.

HOWEVER, somewhere in the most recent updates, WAV and video exports now have a patch of blank audio in between loops. It's about 1/4 of a second long, but with multi-loop WAV exports, I have to track down those hitches manually and delete them. I would love it if this were patched out and the song would loop seamlessly. If the next update can fix the gap and make the loop seamless, then I'll happily give that fifth star that this app honestly deserves otherwise.

Best Tracker... Period.

It's criminal that there only a few reviews here for such a premium peice of software. The emulations of the chips sound pretty much 1/1 and switching sound sytems seamlessly never gets old. Deflemask also adds quality of life improvments to tracker format like midi input while it preserves the classic tracker workflow. There is a lack of instrument presets for the chiptune consoles which means you should have some knowlege of synthesis going in, but you can also learn a lot from the huge amount of demo tracks avalible. With easy import and export options you can also easily find and learn from community made presets and tracks online. With the ongoing support and love the devs have put into this product it's an easy reccomend for me and I can't wait for more systems to be added!

A gem

While I primarily work on Windows, I was glad to see that DefleMask had a macOS version. It's an amazing piece of software. My only complaint is the UI feels a bit... poofy. But that's a matter of taste. The functionality is awesome. If you're looking for a tracker, this is the one.
