Devil is a compact macOS menu-bar toolkit for Apple-platform developers. It combines Xcode cleanup, simulator control, Git workflows, network inspection and response mocking, Apple-platform references, and everyday developer utilities in one focused app.
Clean Xcode clutter:
- Scan Derived Data, Swift Package Manager caches, preview caches, device support files, simulator runtimes, and device logs.
- Review sizes, select individual groups, and confirm every cleanup action before files are removed.
- Keep cleanup inside user-granted folders with sandbox-safe security-scoped bookmarks.
Control and inspect iOS simulators:
- Select Xcode once, then control booted simulators through Apple's command-line tools.
- List installed apps, open data containers, browse and edit SQLite databases, and inspect nested UserDefaults values.
- Export UserDefaults domains as JSON or Markdown.
- Compose and send alert or background push notifications to the selected app.
- Grant, revoke, or reset privacy permissions; set location, language, appearance, and Dynamic Type size.
- Search MapKit places, place a pin, save reusable locations, and reboot or shut down simulators.
Inspect and mock simulator app traffic:
- Connect instrumented iOS Simulator apps through SwiftUI or UIKit setup snippets and a local loopback listener.
- Follow app sessions and grouped request timelines; search URLs and bodies, combine method and status filters, flag sensitive headers, and copy requests as cURL.
- Inspect response bodies as raw text, formatted content, forms, JSON, or a searchable JSON tree.
- Turn completed requests into saved response mocks with exact and conditional matching. Return custom status codes, safe headers, JSON or text bodies, latency, or common network errors to paired Simulator apps.
- Captures remain in memory; only mock rules you explicitly save persist.
Work with local Git repositories:
- Review staged, unstaged, and conflicted changes with inline diffs and commit history.
- Fetch and fast-forward pull from origin, then stage, unstage, discard, commit, and push.
- Browse local and origin branches; create, check out, publish, rename, and safely delete branches.
- Create GitHub pull requests and generate commit or pull-request copy with Apple Intelligence when available.
Browse Apple-platform references:
- Look up device screens, App Store screenshots, HTTP status codes, Dynamic Type, fonts, SF Symbols, Tailwind colors, and curated palettes.
Use everyday developer utilities:
- Generate UUIDs, ULIDs, random strings, lorem ipsum, and Unix timestamps; convert timestamps individually or in batches.
- Encode and decode text, inspect JWTs, pretty-print JSON, hash or HMAC input, transform text, and convert number bases.
- Test regular expressions, query JSONPath, compare text with inline and unified diffs, and create QR codes.
Devil has no Dock icon, keeps file access explicit through the macOS sandbox, and processes core utilities locally. Network access is limited to user-started Git operations and the local Simulator Network Monitor.
