DiffDraft is a local-first workspace for comparing text versions and composing a final draft from the best parts.
Built for Mac and now available on iPhone and iPad, DiffDraft keeps the same core comparison and composition model across platforms. When you want to continue somewhere else, export a DiffDraft package and open the workspace on another supported device.
Instead of opening several text files side by side, keep multiple versions in a Source Shelf, focus on two Sources at a time, and write the final draft in a pinned Compose Draft lane between them.
◼ Compare with a clear direction
The Left Source is the base of the comparison. The Right Source is compared against it. DiffDraft uses this direction consistently when showing Changed, Added, Removed, Unchanged, and structural gap states.
Switch or reverse the active Sources whenever you need a different comparison perspective without resetting the Draft.

◼ Row-aware composition
Source rows, Draft rows, manual rows, and intentional gaps stay visually aligned. Manual Draft rows remain Draft-only, missing-source context stays visible, and the final exported text stays clean without row labels, UI markers, or provenance badges.
◼ Continue on iPhone and iPad
DiffDraft is also available for iPhone and iPad. Export a DiffDraft package when you want to move unfinished work between Mac and mobile. It carries the workspace and Source snapshots needed to continue the comparison and Draft.
This is deliberate package-based continuity rather than automatic cloud sync.
◼ Local-first and plain-text first
No account is needed to compare, compose, save, and export. Source files are not silently modified. Final Draft export uses the Compose Draft text, and packages make unfinished work portable only when you choose to export them.
DiffDraft is made for the moment when comparing changes is not enough. Review alternatives, choose strong passages, rewrite weak ones, save checkpoints, and export a clean final Draft.
