Ratings and Reviews
Why does the depth of field vary by camera model?
Will you be adding a version for the Sony Alpha 1? Why does the depth of field vary by camera model? Why wouldn't the depth of field be the same for all full-frame cameras?
Developer Response ,
Each sensor is different even if the cameras are all full-frame
Inaccurate
Hyperfocal distances are inaccurate (not even close) with my digital cameras; for example on my Fuji GFX 100 it gives a hyperfocal distance of 8.45 feet at f/5.6 on a 23 mm lens. If using this calculation and focusing at 8.45 ft, the first ~12 feet is in focus while the entire background beyond that is very soft/blurred. The actual hyperfocal distance using the above camera/lens combo to make everything in the scene in sharp focus is ~22 feet. May be accurate for very small prints though. I’ve now found the only way to find the accurate hyperfocal distance for each lens and f-stop and camera is testing by trial and error with a tape measure.

Hi thanks for the feedback but you can also add your own CoC and get more accurate results with your particular situation… so the app does have that functionality already built in and you can save those settings as well.
The support email link in the app does not work.
I like this app and find it useful, especially for Large Format Photography. When entering the distance does one measure from the film plane/sensor plane or from the front of the lens. This is especially relevant for close-up work. In the case of my 8 x 10 camera there is an 18+ inch difference. I urge you to add this information to the app. Thanks.

Hi, the mail link should work I get emails all the time. If you click the plus button “add camera” - the email goes to me.
I’ll check if the other links work as well. Appreciate you letting me know.
What 8x10 cam do you have?
Also if the coc is wrong you can manually add it through some trial and error for your camera and get pretty accurate results.
Hope that helps
