DimBar puts display brightness at your fingertips. A lightweight menu bar utility that gives you precise control over every connected display, so you never have to dig through System Settings.
Each display gets its own dedicated slider with percentage readout, so you can fine-tune brightness from 0% to 100% with pixel-level precision. Quick preset buttons (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) let you jump to common brightness levels with a single click. Running a multi-monitor setup? DimBar detects all active displays automatically and shows them in a clean, organized popover. When you have more than one display connected, an "All Displays" section appears with its own preset buttons, so you can synchronize brightness across your entire workspace in one click.

DimBar uses the CoreGraphics gamma table API to adjust display brightness. This approach works with any display, whether built-in, external, USB-C, HDMI, or DisplayPort, without requiring DDC control or private system APIs. When you quit DimBar, your display gamma tables are automatically restored to their original settings. How DimBar stands out:
