Goofy and endearing, Disco Zoo blends animal collection and resource management for surprisingly engaging results. Upgrading and enhancing your zoo requires careful monitoring, spontaneous discos to keep your customers happy, and Battleship-style puzzles to unlock new creatures. Though the concept is unusual, the formula is an undeniable success—delivering delightful humor and unexpected entertainment at every corner.

I love Disco Zoo

7 years ago, I graduated elementary school. My present was a new iPhone 5c in the blue variant. Disco Zoo was the first game I ever played on it. I remember distinctly the morning after graduation, logging into Disco Zoo to wake up my animals. School was out for the summer and we were headed to the fair. I don’t remember how much more of Disco Zoo I played after that, but I certainly do remember at least getting excited finding my first Sasquatch.
Now fast-forward to June 10th 2022. I’ve just graduated high school and am heading to college in the fall. The night after, I get bored so I go on the App Store and search in the games category. Boom, a wave of nostalgia hits me when I see Disco Zoo recommended to me. I remember the events I listed above like a rush of color, and hit download. After reminiscing on what has been the past 7 years of my life, I finally start to play. None of my progress was saved but I’m grateful to play through the game again from the beginning. Just like Disco Zoo reminded me of my journey from the beginning of middle school to the end of high school, from a pre-teen to an adult. Whether or not this game is to thank for that journey is not what I’m proposing, but rather the memories and transition it symbolizes in myself. Thank you.

This is a good game, not the best, but im still playing after all these years.

Ooooohhh look at da liddle sheepies! But seriously, all the animals are adorable. I don’t believe i ever got beyond the ice age zone, but still absolutely loved it. And the music, the music is great! I realize recently that the music is songs off the internet and not all composed specifically for the game, but it is still good. I like the addition of the timeless animals too, a nice late game thing. The funky bus easter egg is pretty funky too (high score: 185). Now addressing the microtransactions, you can do just fine without them, they are practically the opposite of shoved down your throat, and honestly, 2 dollars for 50 discobux is a pretty good deal. Speaking of discobux, pretty effective premium currency. Just the right amount of difficulty to get. Also this game pretty much introduced me to certain folklore things such as the tiddalik or the akhult. Its educational too! I also love that if you tap your finger inside of an animal pen the animals will make a b-line to that location as long as you hold. Overall, great game! Lotsa fun, cute little animals, and good mechanics. My favorite mythical animal is the marsmallow because it’s adorable and hilarious.
