Where Did All the Hard Drive Space Go?
Photos, videos, downloaded files, application data, cache, project files… As you use your Mac longer, your hard drive space often fills up without you even realizing it.
DiskMap scans the files and folders on your disk and creates a "disk map" composed of rectangles of different sizes based on their actual space usage. The larger the file, the larger its displayed area. No need to search through layers in Finder; a single glance is all it takes to quickly identify the files and folders that are actually taking up disk space.
1. Disk Space at a Glance
In DiskMap, each rectangle represents a file or folder.
You can start by viewing the entire disk, or enter any folder and browse the space composition layer by layer:
Disk → Folder → Subfolder → File
Videos downloaded years ago, unused installation packages, huge project files, tens of gigabytes of source material, and old files hidden in layers of directories can all be visually represented by their area size.
Large files are no longer easy to hide.
2. More Than Just Capacity Statistics: DiskMap Visualizes Your Disk Space
DiskMap doesn't just tell you how much space you have left on your disk; more importantly, it helps you understand:
What exactly is taking up your disk space?
Through visualization, you can quickly understand file distribution, identify abnormal space usage, and organize your Mac more efficiently.
3. Supports Multiple Storage Devices
In addition to the Mac's internal disk, DiskMap also supports viewing external SSDs, external hard drives, and other storage devices.
No matter where your files are located, you can quickly understand space distribution through a unified disk map.
4. Simple, Intuitive, and Focused
Open your disk, start scanning, and view the map.
No complicated operations or need to understand complex disk data.
DiskMap aims to transform abstract capacity numbers into a truly "understandable" disk map.
One map to understand your entire disk space usage.

[A powerful disk space analysis tool—visualize your entire disk usage at a glance]
1. Added keyboard shortcuts to the scan results page for decreasing and increasing the display hierarchy level.
2. Added the ability to launch DiskMap directly for disk analysis via the "Super Right-Click" context menu.
3. Optimized the logic for clicking the DiskMap icon in the Dock; the app now prioritizes showing the previously displayed window or the scan results page.
4. After changing the default display hierarchy level, the "Rescan" function on the results page will now perform the scan using the newly set hierarchy level.
