DitherLab is the Mac-native playground for making stunning, intentional dithered imagery. Drop in an image and DitherLab instantly quantizes a palette so you can fine-tune every pixel. Create the perfect look with 21 dithering algorithms (Atkinson, Floyd-Steinberg, Dot Diffusion, Cluster 4×4/8×8, Blue Noise, and more), each with adjustable strength sliders and contextual options. Adjustments can include Contrast, Saturation, Gamma, Exposure, Vibrance, Tone Curve, Sharpen, Noise Reduction, Motion Blur, and more. Powerful palette tools allow you to toggle swatches to control dithering even further. You can also selectively replace colors, algorithmically reduce colors, and more. Pick from retro, analog, and print inspired palette presets like Macintosh and Windows 16-color, Game Boy, CGA, NES, Commodore 64, PICO-8, and many others. Editing is non-destructive; you can always toggle the original source image on and off to compare your dithered image with the original. Documents are saved as a .dlab bundle that retains the source image, filters, dithering settings, and palette state. Your images can be exported as PNG, TIFF, GIF, or BMP, and can be upsampled (nearest-neighbor) up to 10x upon export for convenience in delivering pixel art at whatever size needed.
