Dobby is simply fantastic. After moving into a new house, I was exasperated by how long it was taking to get projects done, in large part because it often wasn’t easy to post a job to a marketplace of thoroughly vetted pros, and even in cases where that was possible, communication wasn’t usually very good. I’ve now done a half-dozen jobs with Dobby, and every professional I’ve contacted through Dobby has been outstanding, and really easy to reach. Alex and her team from Dobby actually check in to make sure that projects are moving along swiftly and to see if you need any help. Their personal customer service is fast and outstanding; it truly feels like they care about solving any problem you have. Basically, most of the annoying stuff about home projects is streamlines with Dobby, and the prices have been cheaper than I expected. I’ll be a loyal Dobby user for a long time. If you’re curious, start with a small project, or just contact founder Alex through the chat on the app and she’ll be happy to tell you right away if Dobby can help with your job. Dobby is more than a home maintenance app, it’s a community of experts that can help you with almost anything you need for your house.

I’ve been using Dobby for over a year now and I’ve been impressed. I’ve been impressed with those that operate the app who are responsive to homeowner concerns and questions, and I’m impressed at the quality of the people they have in their system. To date I haven’t had any issues with any of the things we’ve needed done on our house. The prices that the contractors charge are pretty fair and dobby doesn’t slap you with a crazy high % for using their services. Additionally, the admins at dobby will be honest and if there’s nobody in their system designed to handle the project you want, they’ll let you know. That doesn’t happen often, but they won’t just send some guy to do work they aren’t trained or knowledgeable in.

The app is easy to use and they continue to update it with new services and abilities. The only thing that I would like to see integrated would be the ability for multiple contractors to provide estimates on your project, if it’s a big project. That way we don’t need to ask for multiple quotes, it’s something we could select in the project submitting process.

I highly recommend this app to any homeowner that has trouble doing housework themselves.

I was reluctant to hire through a referral service after mixed success with three different ones over decades of home ownership, but the reviews were good on and my time is scarce. I used only one of the three referral services a second time, but the cost is double and I have returned to hiring an individual directly for this routine bi-monthly service. I would definitely use Dobby again.

Dobby is different because the cost was reasonable, compared to hiring on my own, and I had two people helping me, not just the one to do the work, but also another to schedule the work. Dobby is available not only to communicate issues like delays in arrival, but also to troubleshoot during the service itself.
