Documany is a powerful handwriting, PDF, and AI study app built for iPad. It combines the fluidity of Apple Pencil note-taking, PDF markup, and a personal tutor that prepares you for exams - all in one place. The AI features are completely optional; every note, PDF, audio, and calendar feature works without internet or an API key.
Just select a question, a draw or something you want to ask to AI, AI understands the need and replies back as a popup.
It also gets you ready for an exam by helping you understand the topics and asking questions to bring you up to a proficiency level.
RAG system remembers your choices, the subjects and the whole documents for your needs.
WRITING & DRAWING
- Low-latency, Metal-based ink engine for fluid Apple Pencil writing
- Pen, pencil (graphite feel), and highlighter with true translucency (text shows through)
- Adjustable color, width, opacity, and sharpness; each tool remembers its own settings
- Eraser (whole stroke / partial), laser pointer, shape recognition, ruler with angle dial
- Press and drag to move ink or text; two-finger resize
TEXT & MEDIA
- Text boxes anywhere on the page; font, size, bold/italic/underline, alignment
- Add photos; full-bleed blank, lined, grid, or dotted paper types
PDF WORKSPACE
- Import a PDF into a folder and write, draw, and mark up over its pages
- Box-select any region of a PDF, then copy/cut or send it to the AI
AUDIO
- Multiple recordings: attach to the whole document, a single page, or a point on a page
- See audio notes as pins, tap to play or delete; add an audio-only page

PRIVACY
Your notes stay on your device and, if you enable it, your own iCloud. When you use AI features, the relevant content is sent directly to the provider (such as Anthropic or ElevenLabs) using the API key you enter. We have no servers and do not collect your data.
