You don't decide to lose an hour to Instagram. It just happens — one tap, one scroll, and suddenly it's midnight. Doomy is built for exactly that moment. Instead of a boring timer, it catches you in the act and interrupts with a full-screen blackout that calls you out by name: "Doom Scroller Caught." Then it makes you pause before you can dive back in. HOW IT WORKS - Set a daily budget for the apps that eat your time (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more). - Doomy watches three things at once: your total time, how long you've been in one sitting, and how many times you keep reopening. - Cross a line and you get a blackout screen with a message that's more funny friend than nagging app — and a little friction so "just five more minutes" isn't free. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT - Catches you MID-SCROLL, not just when a daily timer runs out. - Escalating friction: the more you cave, the harder it gets to bypass — so it doesn't become a meaningless tap-through. - Personality you can choose: Funny, Tough-love, or Gentle. The messages rotate so it never gets stale. - One simple dial (Gentle / Balanced / Hardcore) instead of an overwhelming settings maze. - Celebrates your wins with a streak and an "opens resisted" counter. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your usage never leaves your iPhone. No servers, no analytics, ever — Doomy can't even see which apps you pick, iOS keeps that private. It uses Apple's Screen Time framework, so blocking is real and reliable. You'll sign in with Apple during setup to create your Doomy account, but that account never touches your on-device usage data.
