One slip up = fail and back to binging

At first I loved this app because it blocked apps I use too often without a permanent lock down. It was very helpful for being intentional about how I use my phone. That function only works when in a detox (which is nice knowing that the restrictions will ease up at the end). The problem is that I fail my detox every night—not because I binge or use my apps too much but because I forget to journal, which is required for the blocking function to work. Life before bed changes every night, causing me to forget to journal (even with reminder notifications on). I remember to journal most mornings (since every morning is the same), but that doesn’t count toward the daily journaling. Only the night journal counts. Either journal should count, if journaling should be required at all (maybe there should be a reward for journaling instead of pass/fail). I do like the journal feature, as it helps me be more mindful of my process, especially when coupled with the AI prompts.

I’m at a point in my life where I’m really struggling to control my screen time. Doxo innitially seemed to be doing a good job as tool to help me manage that struggle, but I found it was unreliable because it always failed my detox, even though I was hardly using any screen time. I would get the paid version if it had the reliability I need.

PS I find the UI somewhat unintuitive.

Confusing and not effective

I’m so confused as to why it completely blocks out each social media app. I already have a screen time on myself but it doesn’t mean that I don’t need to use it for business and communication purposes.

Found it confusing difficult and the worst part is you cant even chat with the AI. Just set a screen-time for yourself, lose the passcode and then go to chat gpt for a useful and free tip.
