The dozenal number base (base twelve) has long been known to be superior to decimal (base ten). Here is a fun puzzle game for learning dozenal arithmetic!
The several versions of this solitaire puzzle game involve sliding colorful tiles in a square formation in the four basic arithmetical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Some versions are easy, some are hard, some are in between. One included manual presents the basics of all the versions of the game. Another set of manuals included presents the details of each version. They vary in which tiles are available and which of their merges are allowed. As you merge more tiles and your totals increase, you may find yourself being awarded bonus tiles, whose values help you build even higher values. When a game is over, your total score is displayed.
In the dozenal number base, because the number 10 is one dozen, numerals ten and eleven must be single digits. They are represented by the symbols invented long ago by Isaac Pitman: rotated 2 for ten, and rotated 3 for eleven. Those are used by the two major dozenal societies, the Dozenal Society of America and the Dozenal Society of Great Britain. In plain text with dozenal numbers, ten is designated by the letter A, and eleven by the letter B.
