Dr. Prius is an app developed to help professional Toyota/Lexus hybrid repair shop or owners to examine the health of the High Voltage battery. It turns your mobile device into a professional diagnostic equipment that usually cost thousand of dollars, it is being trusted by 253+ professional repair shops around the world.
Dr. Prius perform test and provides access to all the relevant battery information to quickly help identify problems with a simple touch on the screen of a smartphone, do not fall victim to bad battery, test the battery and print the certificate to prove the health of the battery system.
Note: This app requires a ELM327 Bluetooth OBD interface to communicate with your hybrid vehicle, most of the cheap clone ELM327 will not work due to inability to switch between ECUs in your vehicle. I’m giving this app 3 stars because…
The app worked great for my 2016 Prius for removing the seatbelt beeps and on my 2014 for removing the backup beeps.
I plugged this into my 2021 Camry Hybrid (which is in the supported list), it detects the car and shows all the stats; however, disabling the seatbelt option does nothing and seems to not save the setting.
The other main issue is it prompts me to purchase an upgrade. It DOES NOT list the differences between basic and shop mode and you can’t find that info anywhere. Not in the app, online, Google searches or here in the App Store.
I don’t want to pay if my car is not supported. All I want to do is disable seatbelt beeps.
Essenchial high milage app.
I admit, I did not use this app for the first 200,000 miles that I drove my 2005 Prius. After that however it has been an indispensable tool to assist me in the maintenance and service required for the next 400,000 miles. I expect it will continue to work for me, my friends and family who now owns hybrids. As an essential tool, it does take a while to learn all of its features in and capabilities, there are many good videos in the help section, just a few clicks away from the main screen, where Jack, the developer, explains his motivation behind features and how to get the most from the free portion and why the paid version is such a good value to people maintain their own Prii.
I’m still enjoying my 2005, now with over 630,000 miles and the new Lithium upgrade Jack used this app to help him make a reality for all of us driving our Prii many more miles than we ever thought they might go.
Works great - must have correct OBD2 adapter
This app works great with the right adapter. Bad reviews are a result of not using the correct adapter. Go to the developer’s website to see recommended/junk adapters. The developer has the best customer service I have ever experienced. I have contacted him repeatedly with questions about installing my hybrid battery and he always responds within a few hours. I recently upgraded my hybrid battery and accidentally crimped of the wires (my fault). Developer sent me a shipping label that same day, repaired it upon receipt, and returned it with express shipping. Thank you, J.
