Fixed bugs including incorrect cell height calculation, scroll position not following when moving rows up or down, and character count not updating when pasting text. Write. Rearrange. Perfect. Good writing comes from rewriting. - Refining sentence by sentence - Rearranging paragraphs - Reviewing the flow - Polishing arguments - Finalizing the draft—over and over again. That's not the problem. That's the process that creates good writing. The problem is that existing tools don't help with this process at all. That's why I built DraftWriter. To make the cognitively demanding iterative revision process faster, more accurate, and more thorough. Why sentence-level? Writing is made of sentences. When revising, you don't think in vague "chunks of text." You think sentence by sentence to avoid overlooking anything. Is this sentence clear? Does it belong here? Should it come before or after that other sentence? It's a cognitively demanding task that continues for hours. Traditional tools don't reduce this cognitive load: Word processors are fundamentally tools for formatting how text looks. As a result, sentence structure and roles are hidden—which makes sense for readers, but not for writers. Outliners are useful for representing overall structure, but indentation doesn't necessarily clarify the role of each sentence. In other words, existing tools make it time-consuming to understand whether a sentence is in the right place or what role it plays within the whole, within a paragraph, or within a chapter. DraftWriter supports your thinking and reduces cognitive load: - Each sentence is displayed as an independent cell, clarifying text structure, word placement, and roles. - Four columns that you can freely assign roles and purposes to, clarifying the function of each sentence. Ex) Topic Sentence, Support Sentence, Conclusion, etc - Keyboard shortcuts instantly reorder sentences without interrupting your thinking - Character count per sentence shows at a glance whether sentences are balanced or too long - Writers can add information by labeling columns or coloring cells to support revision Ex) "important", "TODO", "FIX", etc - Group sentences into paragraphs, paragraphs into sections, sections into chapters There's a system for managing overall structure while maintaining focus on individual sentences. Who is it for? Perfect for writers who rewrite extensively: - Essay writers refining their logic - Novelists rearranging scenes - Content writers managing multiple drafts - Students structuring papers Mac only. If you spend more time rewriting than writing (meaning, most people), it's worth trying. Free trial with limited features. $2.99/month if you like it.
