drawsta is the drawing app for people who think they can't draw. Open it and there's already something worth drawing: a feed of images from Are.na, Flickr and Wikimedia, plus your own photos. Tap one, trace it, make it yours. Now on iPhone and iPad, with your drawings synced between them. Free, no account, no ads, no tracking.
drawsta teaches you to draw the way artists have always learned: by looking closely and tracing what you see.
Open it and you get a feed built to make your hands itch — street art and murals, modern illustration, Swiss typography, vintage ads, gig posters, skate and surf culture, patent drawings, Bauhaus. Everything in it is openly licensed or public domain, credited where the source provides it, and it is different every visit.
Tap anything you like and it lands on your canvas as a ghosted trace layer. Follow the lines. When you have the shape, turn the ghost off and the drawing is yours.
The canvas is built for Apple Pencil: real inks that behave like the tools they are, layers you can reorder and hide, an x-acto for cutting and moving your work, and a canvas you can rotate under your hand like a real sheet of paper.
Your work saves itself as you go, survives a crash, and syncs through your own private iCloud. There is no account required, no ads, and no tracking. It is free.

Two new pens: a micro felt brush pen that goes from hairline to fat with pressure, and a multi colour ballpoint you tap to change colour. The pen tray scrolls now. The mood board shows far more of the feed, and refreshes when you open it. Plus fixes for dead taps on Home and for missing trace pictures.
