DriveBar puts all your external drives and hubs right into the menu bar – so you always see what is connected, how fast it really runs and whether your cable or port is holding you back. • See external SSDs, USB drives and hubs at a glance • Live USB / Thunderbolt connection speed (e.g. USB2 480 Mb/s, USB3 5/10/20 Gb/s, Thunderbolt 40 Gb/s) • Instantly spot slow or mis‑wired cables and ports • Quick access to all mounted volumes • One‑click cleanup of hidden .DS_Store files before you unplug • Safe eject with optional confirmation • Notification when a volume has been successfully ejected • Lightweight menu bar app – no windows cluttering your desktop SPEED & CABLE QUALITY DriveBar reads the actual negotiated link speed of your external devices, not just marketing names. That means you instantly see if your “fast” SSD is in fact only running at USB2 speed because of a cheap cable, adapter or port. Use it while you plug your drive into different ports or hubs and immediately see the difference. ALL YOUR EXTERNAL VOLUMES Below the device list, DriveBar shows all mounted external volumes with their size, so you always know what is currently attached and where your data lives. Internal system volumes, simulators and technical helper volumes are automatically filtered out to keep the list clean. CLEAN BEFORE YOU UNPLUG macOS leaves hidden .DS_Store files on many volumes. DriveBar can remove these for a selected volume with a single click, or clean and then eject in one step – ideal when you share drives with Windows or Linux systems or deliver media to clients. SAFE EJECT WITH FEEDBACK Eject volumes directly from the menu bar. If a volume is still in use, DriveBar can warn you and optionally retry with a forced eject. When an eject succeeds, you receive a small notification so you don’t have to keep checking whether it is already safe to unplug. MADE FOR THE MENU BAR DriveBar is designed to be out of the way until you need it: • Lives in the menu bar only • Compact, information‑dense layout • Optional colored icons for a quick visual scan • Launch at login support PRIVACY & SANDBOX DriveBar uses system APIs and the app sandbox to inspect only what it needs: your connected storage devices and mounted volumes. It does not phone home, collect analytics or send any of your data anywhere. If you work with external SSDs, USB sticks, docks, hubs or Thunderbolt storage and you care about getting the speed you paid for, DriveBar is the tiny menu bar utility you will want to keep running all the time.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

What’s New in This Update • Improved USB/Thunderbolt speed readability in the menu for connected devices and hubs. • Fixed an issue where Hub & Controller entries could appear too dark in the submenu. • Improved filtering so Time Machine / backup / snapshot volumes are hidden more reliably when disabled in Settings. • Added notifications for Eject All so successful ejections now provide clear feedback. • Refined eject behavior: the menu now closes only after a successful eject, and stays open if eject fails.
