Easy Audio Spectrogram

Visualize sound effortlessly

Free · Designed for iPad

Easy Audio Spectrogram is a simple real-time audio visualizer for microphone input. It shows live spectrogram and frequency spectrum views, helping you explore voices, instruments, music, room noise, and everyday sounds. The app is built around readability. Instead of adjusting gain values in the blind or fight a fixed color range, Easy Audio Spectrogram lets you adjust the graph’s dynamic range in real time. Use the live spectrum display as a guide, drag the color scale to the range you care about, and instantly get a clearer spectrogram. For music and voice, the app includes a note-based frequency scale and real-time pitch detection, making it easier to see sung notes, instrument pitch, harmonics, and resonance as they happen. The interface is minimal and comfortable to use in any orientation, even upside down. Text and icons rotate, but controls stay where they are, so the app remains easy to use whether the phone is in your hand, on a table, or pointed toward a sound source. You do not have to understand what's an FFT to use this app, the default setting works well and engineering settings have been translated to understandable concepts. You can save clean spectrogram screenshots directly from the app, without the buttons covering the image and without pressing hardware button combinations. This app is free to use, free of pop-ups or advertisement banners, use it to explore music or the science of acoustics. Additional Features: -Noise profile removal, hold the button to record a profile, release to activate. -Analyze harmonics in real time with multi-touch. -Psychoacoustic filter to make the graph reflect perceived sound signature rather than flat physical reality. -Optimized performance for many hours of use without heating up your device or draining the battery.

New pitch practice tools and higher precision detection. Sub-Bin Refinement is a new pitch detection algorithm that extracts precise pitch data from coarse FFT bins. It can improve pitch precision by over 100× at C2, approaching the precision of chromatic tuners while keeping the real-time response of a spectrogram. To support this added precision, the pitch display now includes a reference pitch selector, -14c and +16c tuning markers for pure thirds, and selectable 20c or 40c needle ranges. The digital needle also briefly shows recent pitch variation after the sound stops. Pitch Focus helps beginners practice playing one note at a time. It can detect when a nearby unintended note is mixed in, and shows whether that competing note is higher or lower. On iPad, pitch readouts can now be enlarged for easier viewing during practice.
