Now it is more important than ever to eat a healthy rainbow diet to boost our immune systems!
Our App is based on a popular nutritionist recommended diet called "Eating the Rainbow". We've built features following evidence-based research on the benefits of eating a whole-plant based diet to improve health.
Our app helps you visualize your diet to ensure you are getting a wide range of nutrients from the food you eat. The kicker? Our app is totally free! We believe that good nutrition should be easy, fun, and accessible to everyone.
A good guide to consuming a balanced diet is eating a rainbow of plant-based foods every day. The eye-catching colors of fruits and vegetables serve as a good guide for the nutrients they contain. Eating a colorful, varied diet full of plant foods ensures you can access a wide range of nutrients your body needs for good health.
+ EAT BRIGHTER +
We could all do with more plants in our lives, whether we're vegetarians, vegans, omnivores, or carnivores. Especially the carnivores. So, whether you’re an adult looking to get more fruits and veggies into your day or a parent looking for ways to get your kids excited about nutritious food, our app is for you!
We believe in keeping it simple. Nutritionists recommend eating a wide variety of plant-based foods to maximize your health. In short, that means:
1/ Eating a bunch of different fruits and vegetables, and
2/ Keeping your meals colorful!
Choose daily & weekly targets to increase plant variety and access a wide range of nutrients in your foods! Nutritionists recommend targeting 10 different plant foods a day, and a total of 30 weekly. This target includes fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, legumes… basically anything from a plant!
+ FEEL BETTER +
Plant foods provide a ton of benefits to our health. Eating more fruits & veggies has been linked to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, better blood sugar, lower rates of cancer, and weight loss. Go wild in the produce aisle.
Our app helps you learn the science behind what makes your favorite fruits and vegetables so good for you. Stay tuned while we build nutritionist-approved recommendations into the app to help you explore the foods you eat. In the meantime, check out https://eattherainbow.app for healthy tips!
+ PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD +
Eat The Rainbow makes healthy food fun! Our food tracker focuses on healthy eating, not weight loss or calorie counting like other nutrition trackers.
Add the fruits and vegetables you eat to your daily food journal, and let us do the rest! We color-code plant-foods to help you search quickly, and to help you visualize your diet.
Your rainbow will update dynamically based on which colors you’re eating. The more you eat, the darker the shade. See which colors you're lacking each day and week to help guide your next meal. Think of us as a meal planner with artistic flare.
Unlock unicorn status when you eat the rainbow each day or week. We’ll also give you a gold star when you reach your goals. You’ve earned it.

Ratings and Reviews
So far, very good!
I’ve been using this app for about three weeks. It’s easy to use, colorful and fun. I like the dashboard and the categories pie chart. The daily bar graphs clearly show that I need to eat more yellow foods! I appreciate that you can add foods to previous days if you forgot some. I have mixed feelings about the lack of any information on how much counts as a serving; I kind of like that it’s left to me to decide if I’ve had enough to enter a color, but I might be giving myself credit when I haven’t really had a full “serving.” Still, it’s motivating to see the colors add up so I want to earn that rainbow. Thanks for your work!
Incredible app! (Just a few suggestions!)
As a nutritionist myself, this app is truly a gift. Finally a food tracker that doesn’t depend on counting calories or macros. Color is a joy to keep track of, and inspiring even. I love how the app also includes targets for variety (10 or 15 different plant foods per day and 30 or 45 per week), though those don’t seem to work on every device (it shows the days totals 10/0 instead of 10/10 or 10/15)
I only wish foods could be added custom. For instance I had purple kohlrabi, but kohlrabi is only available under the tan category. There are also many ethnic foods not available - like sorrel, burdock, mizuna just to name a few.
Look up Dr. Deanna Minich for a wealth of resources on the rainbow diet, for free on her website.
JUST What I’ve Been Looking For
I’ve been vegan for a couple of years now and interested in upping my game. I was eating a lot of vegan junk food. I just finished reading Fiber Fueled and learned that the best indicator of gut health was the diversity of plants consumed so I was looking for an app to track that. THIS is it! Easy to log. Beautiful. And Educational. I read a bunch of reviews before I downloaded it. Including the one star that hates the order you placed the colors. Yep. Pretty much NOTHING wrong with this app. Thanks for spreading the plant based love! 💕
