Description

Echo exists to help you pray.

We believe that prayer is a powerful and effective way for us to connect with God. If you're anything like us, the biggest obstacles that keep you from praying are difficulty organizing or keeping a list of your prayers, and then actually remembering to pray for those things when life gets busy. Echo was created to solve these problems, and to give you space to engage with your Creator.

We want to help you pray without ceasing.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

KEEP TRACK OF ALL YOUR PRAYERS

Echo lets you keep a list of every single one of your prayers. You can add as many prayers as you want, categorize them, delete old prayers, and even mark prayers as answered so you can see how God is working (and remember to thank Him!).

SHARE PRAYER REQUESTS WITH OTHERS

You have the ability to share prayer requests with other individuals or groups. Share prayers with friends and family privately, or create a group to communicate together. Sharing works great for small groups or focused communities committing to pray for each other throughout the week.

REMIND YOURSELF TO PRAY

You can easily set up push notifications or emails to remind you to pray for your prayers, prayers that others have shared with you, or prayers from your groups. Reminders help you engage with God throughout the week, even when you find yourself busy with life.

PRAY WITHOUT DISTRACTION

Echo gives you the ability to "Pray Now" which gives you a clear, focused way to pray. Choose what you would like to pray for and optionally set a timer for how long you want to pray.

NOTIFY PEOPLE WHEN YOU’VE PRAYED FOR THEM

After praying for someone, send out a notification to let them know you’ve prayed for their shared prayer. You get the option of sending out a message of encouragement after praying for them in the “Pray Now” portion of the app.

FOLLOW & PRAY FOR YOUR MINISTRY

With Echo Feeds, you can follow any ministry and pray for them! If you are a church or ministry, replace your old-school prayer chain or email list with a platform that is beautiful, organized, powerful and instant. Send real-time updates to your network, and connect your community in prayer.

Prayer connects us.

There is something beautiful and exciting that happens when we see God answer prayers.
As we see prayers answered, our faith gets stronger, which in turn causes us to pray even more and feel even more empowered to share what God is doing.

Great tool

I’ve recently felt convicted that there are important people and circumstances in my life for whom and for which I am called to cover in prayer. My problem is I don’t remember very often to to stop and pray. I say I’ve been praying for God to move in these areas, but do I really? I think about them. I wish they would be healed or redeemed, but do I really often take time to pray? Enter this app. It was so helpful to me to even add the prayer. It forced me to be still and take time listening to God about what the need really is and to articulate it. Then the reminders. I was able to be thoughtful about times that are often transitional times between scheduled commitments. Those times would usually be filled with planning for the next thing, but with the reminder popping up on my phone, I remember to just be still and commune with God in prayer. And not just that, but to be in prayer over these specific things I know He wants me to bring to Him all day every day. I’m so thankful and pray this will help me to be less impulsive and self-centered in my prayers and really leave things at the feet of Christ and wait for the Holy Spirit to move.

Great concept, very glitchy

We’ve been using the app for our small group for about a month now and we all love that we can easily message and pray for each other without having a group text. However the app has been super glitchy. I just had to delete and re-download and found out the prayer request I added yesterday never even added. It’s also been notifying everyone in the group when one particular prayer has been prayed for and we can’t figure out why.

It was a little difficult to figure out how to navigate initially, the opening tutorials on use are not very thorough and we accidentally kept “answering” prayer requests instead of just praying for people. The fact that there are a lot of hidden buttons that don’t show up unless you tap the screen gets confusing because there were several times I got into a prayer request and couldn’t figure out how to get out. After using it for a month, the usability is better, although we’re still trying to figure it all out. It would also be nice if in the group prayer board it would list who posted the prayer on the title. Right now we have several that just say “mom” and you have to click on each one to see who posted it. We can have people re-label them, but it would be just as easy to have the poster listed on the list as well.

3 stars due to glitching and difficulty figuring out how to use it.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that Echo has been glitchy for you! We actually work really hard to make it as bug-free as humanly possible! Would you mind emailing us at support@echoprayer.com with any specific details on what else has been happening for you, so we can try to track it down?

As for the other suggestions, we're always working to improve Echo, so hopefully some of our future updates will help with things that you mentioned. We've definitely tried to make it really easy to use, but I think you're right that the in-app walkthroughs are pretty bare. If anyone in your group would like more in depth help, check out some of the articles we've written at https://support.echoprayer.com

Beautiful graphic design, nice group features, UI experience needs improvement m

Update: I e-mailed my suggestions to the Echo support team and they were very responsive and eager to receive them.

I am a church planter serving overseas. I love this app’s simple appearance and typeface/color scheme. The group features are good too; I’ve gladly signed up for the subscription to be able to create feeds and groups. The social prayer aspect is really quite incredible and helpful. I love that it mostly stays out of your face so you can focus on praying. It’s a great addition to our usual e-mail updates, which can be overwhelming for our supporters; Echo provides an easy way to get reminded and updated about prayer requests.

That being said, there could be improvements in the UI. It’s either not intuitive as others have said, or it takes too long to accomplish a task. One example is creating a prayer. There needs to be a hashtag button that makes it easy to add one and to access existing hashtags. When praying, swipe gestures would make sense for editing; or at least, I should be able to edit or mark the prayer more quickly with fewer taps.

It’d be nice also to have a feature to add contact info to each prayer request. I’d like to be able to reach out via email or social media app or phone to connect with somebody I’m praying for without needing to exit the app.

But these are all minor; overall it’s a great experience!

Developer Response ,

Hi Adrian & Rebecca - Thanks for the suggestions. Adding ui for existing tags is definitely on our list (that's an obvious small missing feature at this point). The rest of what you said is valuable feedback. We've added so much to the app since we launched it four years ago, it's probably worth looking at it with fresh eyes to see where the experience hasn't kept in step with the features. We've got lots on the todo list for the future, so thank you for supporting us with the Echo Plus+ membership!
