Description

A low-fat, to the point, DICOM viewer and converter.

Espresso Ray is a viewer and batch converter for DICOM images. It supports 3D volumetric and 2D formats. It also supports both grayscale and color DICOM images of any size. Unlike complicated bloated medical software, Espresso Ray exists to be as simplistic and to-the-point as possible for viewing and converting DICOM images. If you need to convert a set of dicom images to PNG or JPEG format, Espresso Ray will do it!

These days, medical software tends to be bloated, overcomplicated and not very easy to use. But what about those of us who are not medical professionals? It seems as if traditional medical viewers missed the memo: Mac software should be simple, easy, and shouldn't require any training to use. Apply that concept to a DICOM file viewer, and Espresso Ray is the result.

Didn’t work for this RN

I am used to having to buy different apps to open CDs from various outpatient and hospital radiology departments. With a Mac it is always harder since these images are always windows based but this app was particularly difficult to get even results to pull up. Now, in their defense the CD has angiograms, CT scans, MRI scans and plain x-rays all on one disc so it may have been to complicated for the converter. Wasted $3.99 for me but was worth a try.

Espresso Ray

I found the application to function correctly, when dicom files were specified. Espresso Ray opened them, no problem. My initial problem was the zip file I was trying to download was not complete and became CPGZ file, which when double clicked became a zip file, which when double clicked became a cpgz file; etc. Information online suggested trying a different browser. I had tried to download with CHROME first. Bad DATA, then I used SAFARI. I didn't seem to see any result, so I went to eat. When I returned there was my files in a new folder titled -0-. It's only four bucks.

Great, easy to use app

If your trying to view an x-ray from a disk you got from your doc, this is the app you want. It’s easy to use and gets the job done flawlessly. I had a hell of a time trying to find an app that I didnt have to pay for just to view the dicom files until I found this. Couldn’t be more simple- pick the file you want to view and the photo pops up. You can also do “batch” which allows you do convert multiple files at the same time. I got the free version but from what I’ve seen, the upgrade is worth the money.
