This build bundles call-related fixes and improvements since 0.16.49. Calls — audio and ringback • The ringback tone now stops the moment the other side picks up — it no longer keeps playing over the callee's voice. • If you cancel before the callee picks up, the ringback tone goes silent on your side immediately (it used to linger sometimes). • Ringback still plays even with the iPhone in silent mode (matches WhatsApp / Telegram). Calls — stability • Critical fix: calls were being ended at the exact moment the other side answered. Fixed. • When someone is calling you at the same time you're trying to call the same person, the app blocks the outgoing attempt and asks you to answer or decline the incoming call first. • When you cancel before the callee picks up, their iPhone stops ringing immediately (used to wait for the iOS system timeout). • A call that already ended no longer shows as "active" when you reopen the app. Calls — notifications • Answered calls no longer log as "Missed Call" in iOS Recents — the persistent banner on the lock screen and Notification Center clears after a normal call end. • Tapping a stale call banner for a call that already ended (lock screen / Notification Center) no longer opens a "phantom call" — it just opens the app. Navigation • Backing out of a chat no longer requires two taps when you opened the conversation by tapping a message notification on the lock screen. Under the hood • Faster call connect time via iOS cryptographic pre-warm (since 0.16.49). • New internal anonymous telemetry helps diagnose call latency bottlenecks.

Calls connect faster and ringback plays in silent mode (v0.16.49): • iOS call pre-warm reduces time between tapping "Answer" and hearing audio. When the call push arrives, the app already gets a head start on the cryptographic setup in the background. • Ringback now plays even with the iPhone in silent mode, matching WhatsApp and Telegram. • New anonymous internal telemetry (no PII beyond UIDs) helps diagnose call latency bottlenecks. Critical fix in seed-phrase account recovery (v0.16.44): • Messages no longer silently "evaporate" after recovering an account via 12 words. The Signal registrationId is now preserved during recovery, keeping existing cryptographic sessions with your contacts intact. • Fixed a bug where contact names appeared as UIDs in the friends list.

• Quiet inside the open chat — no chime when you're already reading. • Stronger privacy: offline cache off, private contact discovery, multi-custody identity keys. • Registration Lock — optional PIN as an extra sign-in layer. • Fixes: message typography, phantom conversations after registration, clearer error messages.

More reliable friendships and sign-in (v0.16.20): • Friend requests now appear instantly in your pending list. Before, sending a request right after registering a new account on a device that had previously held another account required closing and reopening the app — no longer. • A friend's name shows up correctly the moment a friendship is accepted. The bug that displayed a newly added friend as a technical ID has been fixed at its root. • Legacy accounts self-heal on sign-in. Users who were stuck in a sign-in/sign-out loop due to security-rule updates can now use the app normally on the next login — no account recovery needed. • Better visibility to fix silent failures. Bugs that previously went unnoticed now leave a private trace that lets us resolve issues without asking you to reproduce the scenario.
