Eter: Streaming Internet Radio 4+

I’ve really enjoyed using the Eter Radio app. There are a few key reasons why:

Simplicity: the user interface is pleasant, uncluttered, and easy to navigate. Unlike other streaming music services, I don’t have to think about each and every song I choose - I just pick a station and listen, ad-free!
Discovery: it’s easy to find new stations to listen to - there are literally thousands available, and I often discover new songs and artists using Eter. My favorite feature is the Apple Music integration, so I can save the songs I like to my playlists there.
Integration: the now-playing screen lets me easily choose my output device, including wired/bluetooth devices, the built-in speaker, and AirPlay speakers on my network. Additionally, the CarPlay functionality works well to keep the music going while I’m on the road.
If you’re not yet convinced, just give it a try, it’s free! The one-time premium upgrade is well worth the price, too!

Never had any issue on my desktop - it’s a gamble and exercise in patience on my phone.

Just spent 5 minutes pressing play on every station I have with no luck. Finally switched to cellular data away from my well secured home network. Managed to listen to two ads, look up this app in the App Store, and write this review. Still listening to ads, no music yet.

When listening for a couple hours the ads will just kick in during the music out of the blue.

Back from 5 minutes of pressing the play button only for it to turn back after a few seconds without any music.

Tried 4 of my stations. None would play. I finally tried one of their included “recommended” stations and it played immediately. Then tried one of my stations and it worked!

Sorry for the play by play, but it’s the way it goes every time I try and use the mobile app. As I mentioned, if you can figure out the right URL I’ve never had an issue with the desktop client.

Even with the issues, I keep using it, because a real DJ is still better than any AI generated playlist even after years of learning my listening preferences.

I’ve been getting sick of always feeling like I need to play the perfect song in the car, so I’ve gone “back in time” to radio. This app lets me search for stations, add my own custom stations, change cover art, syncs my Favorites list to my Mac (iCloud sync), and it has CarPlay integration! I also prefer this app over any other radio app because it doesn’t include any in-app ads or audio ads before playing a station. That is, unless of course a station itself plays ads. Hope this app stays updated! It’s great!
