This app got potential but some ways to go.

The graphics are beautiful, but that’s about it at this point. There are a very limited amount of videos, and so far all of these videos are with video only, no sound. I used this app for stationary bike Bowflex C-6. There’s not much information when using the app, such as your RPM, heart rate, resistance, etc. All you have are the total distance on the lower left, and total eclipsed time on the lower right. Pressing on the screen also gives you a brief glimpse of speed, but would fade away after 3 or 4 seconds.

Now, I’ve also been using FulGaz for the same bike. Also graphic on FulGaz doesn’t seem as good as this app, it’s got a whole lot more of them, and they actually have sound. The FulGaz app user interface also provides more information such as remaining distance, remaining time, your heart rate, resistance, etc. Although it may not be accurate but it still gives useful information during usage.

This is not an advertisement for FulGaz but rather it’s strictly my personal opinion. I’d prefer FulGaz to this app at this point in time. However, this app does have potential to be great, if more videos are added, with sound, and more information displayed.

Lacking a Simple Data Sync

I was hoping my Nautilus U618 ride data would just sync to the Explore the World app on sign-in, but apparently not. The app doesn’t work like that as a simple sync storage. It only tracks the active exercise sessions in the app... meaning I need to be using the app, watching the video terrains, to see any workout history added.

This is unfortunate because this assumes many things, least of which is that I like the app, which I don’t. I want to do whatever during a workout and just sync afterwards. I find the videos too boring for long term use.

At minimum, I just want the raw bike data to save to my workouts so I can track my progress somewhere.

Ride with app (almost) everyday

Wanted to throw in my review because for how I use the app it’s been perfect. I usually hate most exercise but have been riding with this app almost every day for two weeks with our Schwinn 170 which is a big triumph for me. The scenery not moving until you do seems simple enough but it’s kept me focused and motivated and for someone with high end ADHD that has been very helpful. I’m also grateful that there’s a history of past rides so I can keep track of days I’ve missed & days I’ve exercised. I usually ride 6 miles & have had no issues being kicked out though sometimes the scene will pause for a few seconds esp if WiFi is slow. I hope more locations continue to be added (more national parks!), or at the very least- that the locations on the Run side of the app are made available on the Ride side.
