I went out and bought a huge HD TV to put in front of my curved treadmill just for using Bit-gym. I have my phone on the treadmill console to detect my motion, and the video plays on the TV. Amazing immersive virtual reality. When you sprint, it sprints. If you want to slow down and look around you can do that. It keeps me super motivated because the scenery is so beautiful i always want to find out whats around the next bend. Im currently living in a city, and its hard to get out into nature. This is a remarkably close alternative. Tricks my brain into thinking I've been in the mountains. I also use it with my ipad on my rower. I wish they had more water rides. I hope the next one is an Alaska glacier paddle. Pairs seamlessly with my heart rate monitors. (Arm band or chest strap) does not work with apple watch, but I don't care that much. Oh the bike rides are great too. Currently using my ipad on the stationary bike, but i plan to mount a monitor in front of the bike too. Bottom line: super motivational, highly recommended.

This is a fantastic app. The tours are interesting, hi-res and smooth, not jerky and lo-res like the JRNY app. There is just the right amount of commentary. I went for 20 minutes this morning wanting to go longer. It has tempted me to buy a 4K monitor to stream to!

The body motion detection is great too. I tried to fake it out by moving my arms. No go. It made me do jumping jacks - ha! It doesn’t actually connect to my Bowflex machine so it can’t detect the resistance level, so the calorie count is probably an average. For heart rate, I connect it to my Apple Watch via another app, Echo Watch Heart Rate Monitor, that acts as a bridge between the watch, my iPhone and my iPad. Everything works seamlessly.

The only request I’d make is the ability to favorite a particular tour.

Happy exercising!

Nearly Perfect!

I’m not a super-athlete and I’m not very competitive, but I do want to develop a consistent exercise habit. I get bored easily, so when I bought my exercise-bike, I wanted an app that would let me ride in exotic places all over the world, as if I was really there. This app does exactly that! I’ve tried 3 rides so far, and they’ve all been gorgeous. I keep going long past the point where I would have gotten bored and stopped if I was just watching TV. I find this kind of “sightseeing” very motivating and enjoyable. I now look forward to my nightly ride

There are a few things missing though. I would like the ability to mark certain rides as favorites, so I can easily find them and do them again. I would like the ability to search the available tours by location, and by how long they are. For example: “show routes in Japan that are 30 minutes or less”. Etc. And I’d like the ability to rate each tour after I’m done, and to see other users’ ratings when I’m choosing my next ride.

I hope these features get added in the future, but I still love this app. The HD video and real sound recorded on location are totally immersive. Project onto your TV and you’re riding through an adventure movie!

I look forward to even more and better choices with future updates.
