Exporter for Contacts lets you export Address Book contacts from Apple's Contacts app to CSV, XLSX Spreadsheet for Excel and Numbers, Outlook OLM, Outlook CSV (incl. Microsoft 365) and various other formats, capable of organizing export setups into reusable templates to make repeated exports much easier. Compared to similar apps on any platform, Exporter for Contacts offers the highest level of flexibility for exporting contact data from iCloud and other sources while remaining easy to use. # Main Features Exporter for Contacts has many features that make the app stand out from the crowd: - One time purchase, no subscription, free updates, no data collection - Export formats: CSV, Excel spreadsheet, Google Contacts, Outlook for Mac OLM, Outlook for Windows CSV, Microsoft Office 365 Contacts CSV, XML with XSLT transformation - Export setups: You can create as many export setups as you want for recurring exports. Each setup automatically remembers which contacts and contact fields you have selected. - You can select whole address book accounts, groups and also individual contacts together for export in one go. - You can load external vCards from the Finder into the app to convert them into another format. - In addition to the handy Simple Field Chooser, you can also specify in more detail what should be exported and in which order for formats like XLSX Spreadsheet for Excel and Numbers, CSV and XML using the Custom Export Layout Editor. - The app can format phone numbers in a uniform way during export. - You can combine any fields in a single column. For example, you can create a spreadsheet where column A contains the display name, company and job title, and column B contains phone numbers and email addresses. The field names can be exported as section headers if you wish. - Support for multiple languages: Independent of the user interface language (currently supported: English and German) you can export field and label names in one of the 39 additionally supported languages for different export formats. The output language can be set separately for each export setup. # Export Formats Exporter for Contacts can do more than a simple converter that just write all contacts with all fields into a big CSV file at the push of a button (although you can also use it this way). Besides special formats like Google Contacts and Outlook for Windows CSV/Outlook for Microsoft 365 CSV, it also directly supports the Outlook for Mac OLM format with all the trimmings. Of course, the app can also generate CSV and Excel files, and you can specify in detail which fields to export and in what order. When exporting as a CSV or Excel Spreadsheet file, the app even supports address book fields that do not exist in the Contacts app. For example, it can export street name and house number separately. It can also combine data neatly. If a contact has multiple email addresses or phone numbers, they can be easily exported as a list into a single table cell. # Privacy Exporter for Contacts doesn't collect any data. All contact conversion takes place locally on your Mac. # Pricing In a free basic mode, Exporter for Contacts can create customised vCards (these are vCards where you decide which fields are exported). All other export formats can be tested for an unlimited time, with the last character of an exported value being replaced by a tilde. This allows you to download the app for free and get a feel for whether it could be of use to you. All paid export formats can be activated through a low-cost one-time purchase (no subscription). I got my single column of email addresses within a minute. I have 5000 contacts, it handled it no problem. There is a little clean up work to do using Search and Replace in Pages say.. where there is a home and work email, it put them next to each other on one line, easy to fix with Replace.. so I'm not bothered. Was hunting for this for awhile, glad I found it here on the App Store. Thank you for making this. $9.99 is an easy price to afford.

Vcards are all well and good, but neither Apple's "Contacts" app/database nor my preferred "Busy Contacts" app supports exports beyond Vcards. That's a huge mystery (what are they afraid of?), but Exporter does the job. It makes lining up and selectively exporting contacts painless and fast. If you're weary of the inability to use your contacts for anything beyond your contact app's limited capabilities, this will do the job for you.

After emailing the developer, he helped guide me through the process of exporting everything, even custom labels that our company created. Everything exported, and now I will work on cleaning up the data. Very happy with Stefan and his quick response!

This worked where Apple didn’t. Apple claims you can drag-n-drop your contacts onto a Numbers spreadsheet and it will auto-populate. Yes, it does, but for me it keeps crashing if I want to do my whole address book. I have to do a few at a time for it to work. But with EXPORTER, in a single click all of my contacts exported as a CSV. All while I’m on hold with apple support. Saved me time and money. Thanks.

You can now disable review requests and automatic display of release notes so that external automation tools can control the app without interference.
