Plug in a Linux(ext4) drive and it just mounts. Reading is free forever. A one-time purchase unlocks writing. Ext4Kit lets your Mac read and write Linux ext4 drives natively. Plug in a USB drive, SSD, or SD card formatted on Linux, a Raspberry Pi, or a gaming handheld, and it appears in Finder like any other disk. Open files, copy them off, and, with Write Access, copy files on, rename, and delete. Built on Apple's FSKit, the modern file-system framework in macOS. There is no kernel extension to approve, nothing to disable in Recovery, and nothing that survives an uninstall. Turn the extension on once in System Settings and forget about it. READING IS FREE Every ext4 drive mounts read-only at no cost, for as long as you like. Browse, search, preview, and copy files to your Mac. WRITE ACCESS A one-time purchase unlocks writing: copy files onto the drive, create folders, rename, delete, and edit in place. Fourteen days of writing are included so you can try it first. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any of your Macs. BUILT FOR SAFETY Ext4Kit journals every change the same way Linux does, so an unplugged cable or a crash leaves the drive consistent and the next mount, on a Mac or on Linux, replays the journal cleanly. Drives that use features Ext4Kit does not yet write to are mounted read-only rather than risked. WHAT IT SUPPORTS - ext4 with the default features of current Linux distributions: extents, 64-bit, journaling, metadata checksums, directory indexes, extended attributes, inline data - Block sizes of 1, 2, and 4 KB; large files and large directories - Volumes with bigalloc, casefold, quota, or encryption features mount read-only - Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15.4 or later Eject a drive before unplugging it, just as you would with any other disk.
