What's new in f8 Develop 1.1 • Adaptive develop — a new mode that reads each frame and applies a targeted correction only where it helps: rescuing over-exposed color negatives that come back washed-out or blue, and keeping blacks true even when you show some film rebate. Adaptive is the new default on fresh installs; switch any roll to it from the mode picker. • Smarter auto-crop — finds the image inside the film's sprocket holes and snaps to the right aspect for 35mm and 120 (6×6, 6×7, and more), when you crop or automatically on import (optional). • Sharper black & white detection — color and black-and-white rolls are told apart more reliably across scanners and film stocks. • Refined frame selection — clicking, multi-select, and delete behave the way you'd expect, plus a new preference for what's selected when you open a roll (your last-viewed frame, or the whole roll). • Reliability and quality fixes throughout.
