Facetune AI Photo/Video Editor 4+

I love all the great features that this app offers for editing pictures and videos. The first time I downloaded this app, I opted for a yearly subscription at a discounted price so I would not have to worry about money being drawn out of my banking account monthly; I used it for two years but I decided I no longer needed it and cancelled my subscription with no problem. Because this app was great for what I needed; I decided to subscribe to this app again(yearly) at discount price stated; however,I received a warning from my bank of suspicious activity concerning Apple Store purchases that were not familiar so I halted payment. When I tried to use this app there was no download available so I thought I had made a mistake. I reloaded the this app again a few days later and subscribed for the year and it appeared that everything was fine; however, the next day I received the warning from my bank again for suspicious activities concerning an Apple store purchase and stopped payment. After checking my records to see what was going on, I noticed that I was getting billed for the discount subscription, and also some other amount. After a few days my face tune account was not available. What was this hidden fee for?

The app itself is awesome. You need the premium version to really get the most out of it, but it is worth it imo. However, i would not recommend paying the extra money to create AI Avatars with this app. After being let down with the results of my first AI avatar bundle purchase, I decided to purchase it again to try with different pictures to hopefully yield better results. I have used the same set of photos for other AI avatar generators with great results. Out of the 150 avatars that i generated, more than half of them bear no resemblance whatsoever to me, it’s like the images were taken straight from google. You also have no say over the types of avatars that you will get with your purchase. For example, with my first purchase i received: yearbook, royalty, 1920s, animation station (anime), claymation, winter, vibrant, dimmed, fashion , and soft glam. Animation station, 1920s, fashion photography and claymation were the biggest waste of money i wish i could add photos to my review to show. The second purchase i received duplicate avatars in yearbook and varsity categories, fashion photography, and flower crown. Of all of the avatars, flower crown were my favorite and i wish there was an option to choose which categories you would like to generate instead of a random drawl.

I read a review prior to writing this one that discussed the same issues I’m having. I honestly think the developers of facetune are talented and have created an amazing app, however I don’t think its fair to suddenly update the app and start charging for two features that have allowed them to gain so many downloads: the retouch and paint option. I use this for work, for myself, and for friends who need help fixing photos. Frankly, I pay too many subscriptions to be able to afford another one just for these two options. I think that they can increase their revenue for the app by adding more features such as hair color or clothing (available through subscription) rather than charging for the ones that were once promises to be free. Please open these features up to free users again, those who can afford to continuously pay a subscription will pay for the other, new, and much cooler features you guys have been adding! App is great in use, no crashes, it was just this one thing.

P.S. it seems that the hype over facetuning that has been introduced by influencers has made the creators believe that they should suddenly start charging more for what they call a “selfie editing app”.
