Description
The Fetal Heart Rate Tracing SecondLook™ application is a study aid for learners of the medical professions (specifically Ob/Gyn, nursing and midwifery) to self-test their level of knowledge about this important diagnostic procedure used in pre-natal care. This mobile app covers the following topics: Basics of reading and evaluating fetal heart rate tracings, including baseline determination and variability; the evaluation and biological background of various types of accelerations and decelerations; and a set with case examples for practicing the interpretation of FHR tracings. The information is reviewed in a stepwise fashion guiding the learner through the evaluation of this widely-used diagnostic procedure and discusses the meaning of different clinical scenarios for patient care.
Ratings and Reviews
Great FHR Review
This app is extremely helpful to medical students who are on their ObGyn clinical rotations and/or studying for shelf exams. Before starting my ObGyn clerkship, I reviewed FHR tracings using this app and felt incredibly prepared to look at real tracings in the clinic and on Labor and Delivery. A year later, before starting my Sub-internship ObGyn rotation, I again used this app to refresh my memory. Within 10 minutes of looking through the app, I could again recall the most high-yield info that students need to know. It’s very easy to use and provides a quick, interactive review of reading FHR tracings.
