Description

Use flashcards, spaced-repetition, and your Apple Pencil to study with Feyn! The macOS version is meant just for reviewing, as it doesn't support an Apple Pencil.

Taking your own notes by hand and spaced-repetition are the best way to learn new concepts, and with Feyn you can do just that. Open up a book on your iPad and comfortably create cards of the most important concepts right there using your Apple Pencil. The cards are phone-sized so that you can then take them on the go and review them on your phone! Their size also makes them easy to write while multi-tasking on your iPad.

In this way, you *learn* on your iPad as you think of how to you summarize new concepts into cards, and *memorize* on your iPhone while you review them on the go!

We support iOS features like multitasking for seamlessly creating new notes, and copying and pasting drawings between the iOS Notes app and Feyn to easily convert your lecture notes into cards. The notes will automatically synchronize between your devices using your iCloud drive. We also support iOS' Quick Note, Handoff, and have a macOS app.

Feyn uses spaced repetition to aid in learning. The app will ask you to review cards depending on how well you do remembering them, cards you miss will be asked more often, and cards you get right less often. This way you minimize the total time you spend studying and maximize retention!

Great App - Needs Folder Nestimg

This app is great. The feyn method has proved useful in my chemistry, orgo and anatomy classes.
My only 2 points of frustration are that

1) I am unable to beat folders. As someone who loves organization, the ability to nest folders under larger folders would be incredible, especially given the quantity of decs I create. For example, I would love to be able to create an Orgo folder with sub folders for NMR and functional groups. This would be sooo helpful.
The developers clearly respond to feedback and I am hopeful they will implement this much needed feature.
2) I am not (as I understand) able to selectively turn on notifications for specific decs. This feature would be really helpful as I find myself silencing all notifications due to the sheer volume of decs I have. This defeats the Feyn power a bit and I would love to utilize it more effectively.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for taking the time to write a review! Regarding folder nesting, this is already possible, just long press a folder and select "Move into folder". As for notifications, I am not sure I understand correctly. We'd be really thankful if you could go to Settings and press write feedback so we can continue the conversation there; we'd really like to hear your suggestion regarding notification silencing!

Super useful

I love the idea of vertical cards for working on a horizontal display. At first on loading the app I was disappointed because I traditionally make all my cards horizontal. But now after using I see your logic, because I can do half or quarter screen with another app and still create my cards! Excellent idea. The writing is good and system easy. One suggestion would be to be able to thumb flip the cards -- as reaching to the top becomes tedious. Thanks for working on this app. Handwritten cards are really best for memory retention. Get's the whole mind working.

Great Flash Card App!

I started using this app so that I could make flash cards to help memorize and test myself on learning Japanese works, characters, etc. There are a ton of good features that you get with the free version. If you are getting more in depth than I am it would be useful to get the subscription. But overall I’m up to 290 flash cards across 9 folders (some nested folders). These cards will sync across devices!

Do recommends if you are looking for a great flash card app!
