Sweet Hardcore yet casual puzzler

This game is a hardcore puzzler, but because you also have infinite redos on moves (all the way to the start) for every level, it’s also somewhat casual. Therefore, it hits that sweet spot between hardcore and casual that makes a game addicting.

Quick list of good, bad and neutral:
+randomly generated levels
+you’re a dog trying to save your elderly master! Isn’t that cute?!?
+learn-as-you-go type game — no tutorial, yet patterns and mechanics are extremely easy to learn due to redo button and this gives the game a sense of discovery, similar to Road Not Taken, another game.
+offline, fully premium, zero IAP
+flawless controls
+PC port. PC quality.
+does not make device hot
-drains battery fast
-not a portrait game. Bummer.
-level 15, the final level, is exceedingly difficult. It can only be done with full hearts, both a healing potion and a bomb, and some RNG enemy placement luck. Frustrating.
~while levels are randomly generated, there are boss levels that are similar enough to each other for you to notice. Might make it repetitive for some.
~infinite redos, but if you die three times, a ghost comes to kill you. You can’t make quick moves, or you might die. Once you die three times you start over.

Tip: you can swap the start and finish points. This gives the game even more depth.

Brilliant puzzler

I had been keeping an eye on this game when it was on Steam, but waited until it’s iPad release as it seemed perfect for that platform - and it is! There are no instructions and you must learn as you go, but by simply paying attention and trying things, you find plenty of clues. You can always reverse your moves (up to a point) to try something different.

The pixel graphics are lovely and the challenge is immense. If you want a relaxing puzzle game to plow through, avoid this. If you want a game that requires trial and error and thinking, you have found it! This is as good as it gets for a hard puzzle game and I expect I will be trying to master it for a very long time.

Other factors: No ads, no IAP, suitable for short play sessions, landscape mode only, no screen rotation, easy on the battery.

Amazing game! Broken on an XS Max!

I love this game on PC, and am super excited to play it on mobile.

That said, it’s unplayable on an iPhone XS Max. Essential gameplay elements are hidden underneath the notch, and you can’t even rotate the screen to avoid it.

Really looking forward to an update that lets me enjoy this fantastic game!
