- In addition to freeing up storage locally, it also has the ability to free up your iCloud storage! Analyze your iCloud's metadata, and create a nice graph of all the files based on storage consumption, & again, duplicate detection! Duplicates that exist only on the cloud are based on size & names alone. The beautiful thing about FilesDrive is it never randomly triggers a whole iCloud transfer thats going to exceed your internal storage 25 times, like other apps do. So when we analyze your iCloud for potential duplicates, we show the locations and which files without downloading them entirely.
- There's another possibility for a duplicate file situation: File 1 (iCloud) + File 1 (Downloaded From iCloud-Evictable) + File 1 (My iPhone/File 1) (The exact same file as the first two, but this one is an extra, totally unnecessary copy that exists only locally and is wasting double the storage because the iCloud one is already downloaded, this might seem unusual, but we had multiple devices that had all had several instances of this issue)
