A godsend

I live in a tiny studio apartment so I’m always in a panic when I can’t find my Oura ring and it won’t connect to the app…I’m usually very careful to only put it down in one of three places (table, desk, or countertop). I never have the location turned on for it either, since it doesn’t seem really useful to know where it was the last time it connected to the app if I only open the app at home anyway. I must’ve spent 20 minutes checking if I had knocked it onto the floor somehow, even looked in my in-sink garbage disposal and couldn’t find it. The Oura website’s chat assistant recommended this app, and I walked around for 5 minutes trying to get a connection…no luck. Started to lose hope. Then in the kitchen it connected for the tiniest of moments! Then it immediately lost the signal again…3 minutes of frantically waving the phone around the kitchen later I decide to hold my phone over the sink drain and bam, 5-bar signal! I couldn’t find the ring by eye, I literally had to stick my hand in the garbage disposal and feel around until I found it. For me, my phone had to be about 2, 3 feet from the ring before it was able to detect a weak signal, but maybe it had to do with interference from all the metal. Anyway this app is a godsend and saved me a ton of time, stress, and money!

This App saved my sanity!

Tl;dr: Find My Ring did exactly what it claimed. The app did in 10 mins what I couldn’t do in 10 days!!!

I removed my Oura ring along with my wedding bands to do something around the house. When I got ready to go to bed upstairs, I noticed all my rings were missing. I’m so forgetful and instantly panicked because we just had our one year wedding anniversary, and I thought I’d already lost my rings. I searched the jeans I was wearing, found the wedding bands, and could breathe again. My Oura ring wasn’t there, though. I searched around my closet where I thought the ring could be but no luck. I searched a little bit more every night for about a week and was starting to give up hope. Then I got the low battery notification in the Oura app and was surprised to see the last known location was my house 2 hours ago. So it’s here somewhere but where??? For days, I was losing my mind to know that it was IN the house but no additional detail and that my chances of finding it were dwindling with the battery level. I searched and saw Oura’s rec for this app. The instructions were very easy to follow, and in 10 mins, I’d found my ring in my closet finally. I was so relieved, I wanted to cry. Thank you, Find My App!!

It Worked!!!!

I had left my ring on the couch one morning and forgot to put it back on. My best guess is that the cat found it and was swatting it around playing with it and it ended up under the entertainment center which is massively heavy and only has a narrow gap between the bottom and the floor. Turned the couch & chairs inside out looking for it to no avail. Tonight the charge me notification popped up on the phone so I knew it had to be in Bluetooth range somewhere. Went to the Oura help section and they gave this as an option to try. Put it on the phone and it pinged right away, I wandered around long enough to tell me where it wasn’t and the best signal showed next to the EC. I rounded up a long thin back scratcher and managed to fish it out of the back of it where my feline miscreant had swatted it. My wife was PO’ed when I had told her that it was lost as it was a gift from her so now she is moderately mollified and I will be more careful in the future. Thank you sir for building this handy little tool!
