FlightScore — Know Before You Go
Every preflight comes down to one question: should I fly today?
FlightScore answers it with a single number from 0 to 100, built
from live weather, your personal minimums, and the FAA's PAVE
framework. No more juggling eight apps. No more second-guessing
the TAF. Open FlightScore, see your GO Score, make the call.
THE GO SCORE
A 70/30 blend of live weather and your Flight Risk Assessment.
Green means the numbers support the flight. Red comes with a
plain-English "Why" — crosswind, density altitude, a deteriorating
TAF, a SIGMET across your route. You always know what the app is
thinking, and why.
LIVE WEATHER, BUILT FOR DECISIONS
- METARs, TAFs, PIREPs, SIGMETs, and G-AIRMETs from AviationWeather.gov
- NEXRAD radar with animated loops
- Hazard corridor alerting along your planned route
- MOS forecasts for the next 24 hours
- FAA NOTAM v2 integration — the real ones, decoded
AIPILOT — YOUR POH IN YOUR POCKET
On-device AI reads your POH and approach plates. Ask "What's my
short-field takeoff distance at 4,500 feet density altitude?" and
get the answer — even at an FBO with no Wi-Fi. Your documents stay
on your device.
THE PILOT WORKSPACE
- Logbook with ForeFlight CSV import, currency tracking, PDF export
- Weight and balance with saved aircraft profiles
- Fuel range rings on the moving map
- Preferred routes and flight recorder
- OWNSHIP tracking, documents, and checklists that travel with you
GLANCEABLE, EVERYWHERE
A Home Screen widget keeps your GO Score one glance away. Apple
Watch shows weather trends on the drive to the airport. iCloud
syncs your profile, logbook, and PAVE assessments across iPhone,
iPad, and Mac — start your risk assessment at the kitchen table,
finish it on the ramp.
FLY WITH CERTAINTY.
FlightScore is a decision-support tool. It does not replace an
official FAA weather briefing or qualified flight instruction.

What's New
Hazardous Weather Alerts
FlightScore now detects thunderstorms, freezing rain, large hail, and other severe conditions directly from METAR present weather codes. A bold red banner appears in the weather detail card when convective conditions are reported — even if the flight category shows VFR. TAF forecast periods are now color-coded red and amber so you can see at a glance when severe weather is expected during your flight window. These detections are also wired into your Go/No-Go score.
In-Flight Map Upgrades
The moving map now shows a live ALT / GS / HDG / ETE readout at the top of the screen once you're airborne, plus a 60-second lookahead line projecting your track ahead based on current heading and groundspeed. New Cockpit/Sunlight Mode (button) switches to a high-contrast basemap built for bright daylight. GPS tracking and follow mode now persist when you switch tabs — the blue dot keeps moving no matter where you are in the app, and the screen stays awake automatically. Stale data alerts warn you when METAR or TFR information is more than 6 minutes old.
Standalone Checklists
Checklists no longer require an aircraft. Create any checklist with just a title — perfect for custom flows, ground procedures, or shared lists — and optionally link an aircraft later.
Scratchpad Improvements
The EFB Scratchpad gets a major overhaul: one-tap CRAFT, ATIS, and Freq templates in Type mode; a hold-to-clear button that requires a 600 ms press to prevent accidental wipes in turbulence; palm rejection for Apple Pencil users; and a red-spectrum Cockpit Night Mode that preserves your dark adaptation. Drawing performance is significantly improved with a new offscreen canvas architecture and quadratic Bézier smoothing.
Apple Watch
The circular watch face complication now shows your destination airport below the score so you can confirm at a glance which flight you're looking at.
Weather Display
The Airport weather tab and briefing weather detail have been redesigned to a ForeFlight-style decoded layout — one field per row, always decoded by default. Raw METAR text is still available via a tap. Temperature now appears in the briefing timeline for both TAF and NWS forecast sources.
Bug Fixes
Resolved all remaining map crash patterns. Fixed GPS error display (now a readable full-width banner). WebGL context loss now recovers automatically. Several scratchpad undo and iOS layout fixes.

1.5.7 Apr 28
What's New
FlightScore now brings ForeFlight-level IFR planning into your briefing workflow.
IFR Route Planning
Enter full clearance-style route strings (e.g. "KDFW BOWIE3 MQP V66 MIZAR J42 BDR RNAV KJFK") and watch each token resolve into color-coded chips — airways in blue, SID/STARs in green, fixes in white. Validation warnings flag altitude-below-MEA and off-route fixes before you ever call clearance delivery.
Airways on the Map
Toggle Victor (blue), Jet (orange), and RNAV/Q (purple) airways on the enroute chart. Labels show at zoom 8+. Tap any airway for its ident, MEA, and direction restriction.
Approach Plates with Live GPS Overlay
Browse IAP, SID, STAR, and APD charts in the new Plates tab. Geo-referenced approach plates show a pulsing blue ownship dot that moves with your GPS position in real time during an approach.
IFR Risk Scoring
Three new score categories for IFR flights: Alternate Compliance (1-2-3 rule), Approach Minimums Margin (compared against your personal DA/MDA limits), and IFR Workload (currency, actual IMC hours). Four IFR-only FRAT questions auto-populate from your briefing data.
New Weather Layers
Freezing Level — cyan altitude contours for icing awareness
G-AIRMETs with 6-hour time slider — scrub Zulu/Tango/Sierra hazard forecasts from T+0 to T+6
Cloud Tops — altitude-colored fills along your route
Wind Barbs — conventional barbs at 3K, 6K, 9K, 12K, and 18K ft
PIREP filtering by icing or turbulence
IFR High Enroute Chart added to map layer controls.
Offline IFR Data — the regional offline pack now includes airway segments and approach minimums so full IFR planning works without a network connection.
Checklists — Import & Export
Import your existing checklists from CSV or build them in a spreadsheet and load them straight into the app. Export any checklist as CSV from the new Manage panel. You can also rename checklists and edit items inline.
Favorite Airports — Now Synced
Saved airports now sync to your account and appear instantly across all your devices.
Airport Safety Score
The Airport tab now shows a live weather safety score for any airport — no flight plan required. Great for a quick conditions check on a divert or home field.
Logbook — Endorsements & Expanded Fields
A new Endorsements tab lets you record student and instructor endorsements alongside your flight log. Logbook fields now match LogTen Pro and ForeFlight for full compatibility.
Safety Score Warning for Past Flights
Opening a flight with a departure time that's already passed now shows a clear note that the score reflects current conditions, not historical weather.
