Description
Remotely control your building's access control system, Focal Point.
Focal Point Freedom is a mobile access application for Focal Point access control systems. The mobile platform is easy to install and use and allows customers to remotely manage their systems. From the application, customers can monitor system activity and filter it by type for easier viewing. You can issue commands to all system devices to lock/unlock doors, grant access and open/close output points for turning on lights, etc. The ability to de-activate and re-activate cardholders, as well as system operators is also included. Any predefined alarm activity will be displayed and the customer can acknowledge any alarms. This mobile application gives you the freedom to control your facility from anywhere with a mobile data network or Wi-Fi connection. The download is free but the Focal Point access control system must be registered to support this application.

This app deserves zero stars. It should’ve never been released in this state. Everything else is working on the phone. There’s 5G coverage. So yes the problem is the app. I always try opening the app early before I get to the gate. I can be on the street and the app just sits there. I have to open and close the app like 5 to 10 times or even more than that to get it to work. The parking garage is very tight by the entrance and exit so cars will pile up quick. I’ve had to get out of my truck several times to open the gate. This app needs a new developer. We could’ve just had regular gate openers and called it a day instead of this trash app.
WORST APP EVER
Hands down worst app I’ve ever used/seen. Works maybe 10-15% of the time properly. Most of the time you have to close and reopen it 3-4x to get it to work and still may not . You have to get out of your car and walk to the gate to get in most times . I honestly can’t believe this complex (West Love) continues to use it at the expense of residents that just want a working app to access the building and the garage. It’s RIDICULOUS . And has been this way for YEARS never any fixes. Trash.
Works
Not bad and works ok. I generally have to log into the app, click into where I want to go, then back out and come back in to get it to work.
*Note to the developer - Can you please set this up to function with Apple Shortcuts on iOS 13. It would be pretty great to set a shortcut up where I say “Hey Siri, Open The Gate” (which is possible) but not with this app due to the way it’s set up.
