Your foldable is a breathing dot-matrix display. Every fold is sensed live — particles fold, gather and glow; wear, daily rhythm and lifespan share one screen.
Foldfield turns the folding screen itself into the dashboard.
The whole display is built from a couple of thousand particles. They are not a
background animation — they are the screen. The ring, the gauge and the progress
are all "displayed" by particles, so when the panel folds, the content folds with it.
LIVE SENSING
Reads hinge angle and state through the system's folding capability and counts
automatically — no manual logging. Devices without a hinge sensor fall back to
manual mode; statistics and predictions keep working.
WEAR, VISIBLE
The main view is a single ring. Consumed life lights up as a brighter arc — the
longer it gets, the less is left. It stays readable even when the number is tiny,
because the shape never disappears just because the reading is small.
LIFESPAN
A Weibull survival model, calibrated with your own usage, gives conservative,
median and optimistic dates with an explicit confidence level. The assumptions,
sample size and calibration coefficient are all shown in Settings.
RHYTHM AND FORCE
Daily frequency uses an exponentially weighted moving average, so the last two
weeks weigh more. Forceful and slammed folds carry a higher wear weight — one
fold is not the same as another.
REMINDERS
Get one local notification when wear crosses 80%, again at 90%, and once more
before the estimated end of life. Everything is scheduled by the system on the
device — no server involved. Turn the switches off whenever you like, or revoke
the permission at any time.
PRIVACY
No account, no network requests, no third-party SDKs. Everything stays on this
device. The app collects no data.
