ForceMaps: Skip Google Maps. Open Directions in Apple Maps or Waze Instantly.
Tired of Google Search forcing you into Google Maps? ForceMaps is a Safari extension that automatically redirects every address, direction, and location link from Google search results straight into Apple Maps or Waze — instantly, privately, and with zero extra taps.
How It Works:
When you search for restaurants, businesses, or directions in Safari, Google tries to open its own Maps app or trap you in Google Maps within the browser. ForceMaps intercepts those links and sends them directly to your preferred navigation app. No popups. No detours. Just tap an address in Google and go.
NEW: Location History
ForceMaps now saves every location you open in a built-in History tab. Search past destinations, sort by date or name, swipe to delete, and tap to reopen — all without leaving the app. Your history is stored entirely on your device. We never collect, transmit, or access your data.
Why Users Switch to ForceMaps
• Redirect Google Maps links to Apple Maps or Waze automatically
• Get directions from Google search results in one tap
• Block "Open in Google Maps" and "Sign in to Google" popups
• Save and search your location history privately on-device
• Hide Google AI overviews and AI-generated content boxes
• Smart address detection across all Google search results and domains
• Works with businesses that have multiple locations
• Choose Apple Maps or Waze as your default map app
• Lightweight Safari extension — no background activity, no battery drain
• No data collection, no tracking, no accounts
ForceMaps is built for iPhone users who prefer the native iOS experience. Skip Google Maps for good.

As Google continues to try to force you to use their apps rather than the a web experience, just getting direction via web search became a miserable experience if you don’t want to have Google Maps installed. Force maps fixes this by still allowing you to use google as your search engines, but opens directions and addresses in Apple Maps. No more pop ups from google trying to trick you into getting their app and stuck in a loop opening the App Store. No more pop ups trying to get you to change your default app. This is one of the best iOS apps you can buy for removing friction in using the web + maps.
Didn’t Know I needed this!

It should’ve been very clear that this app is ONLY an extension for Safari when using Google search engine WITHIN Safari and CANNOT be added as an extension in Chrome. Completely useless purchase!
Awesome

This app is great! It does exactly what it claims it does and doesn’t sacrifice privacy! Awesome.
Version 2.1 — Location History
ForceMaps 2.0 brought a complete rewrite of our link detection engine for faster, more reliable redirects. Now 2.1 takes it further with Location History.
What's New:
• Location History — Every address and direction you open through ForceMaps is now saved in a dedicated History tab. Search past locations, sort by date or name, and tap to reopen in Apple Maps or Waze.
• Swipe to delete individual entries or clear everything at once.
• History updates in real-time — no need to refresh.
Privacy First:
• All location history is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. Your history never leaves your phone.
Improved in 2.0+
• Completely rewritten redirect engine — more accurate interception with fewer false positives.
• Call, Website, Share, and Save buttons are no longer accidentally intercepted.
• Faster redirects to Apple Maps and Waze.
