What’s New

Version 1.2

SharePlay Support
• Join your friends on voyages to new and exciting airports with support for SharePlay in Voyager!
• After joining a FaceTime call with others using Vision Pro, open the Voyager app to access the SharePlay menu just below Voyager’s airport panel and start sharing with others.
• While using Voyager via SharePlay, all participants can collaboratively view and interact with the same airport environment by zooming, panning, and rotating the disk. Each participant can also view airport or aircraft details and listen in to Air Traffic Radio, but these features are not shared between all participants.

Zoom & Pan Gestures
• Explore airports and their surroundings even more freely with new support for zooming and panning the map in Voyager.
• To zoom the map, pinch the disk with two hands and move them together or apart to zoom the map out or in, from a default diameter of 20 statute miles to about 10 miles at the closest and 30 miles at the furthest.
• You can also rotate the disk while zooming by moving your hands in the desired direction of rotation while bringing them closer or further apart.
• To pan the map, pinch the disk with one hand and drag it in any direction to move the map in the opposite direction.
• You can pan up to 15 miles away from the selected airport at the map’s edge, at which point the map will stop moving in that direction. Panning the map is also not possible at the highest zoom level, since the map’s edge is already at its maximum extent of 15 miles from the airport.
• If you pan the map far enough that the selected airport is no longer visible on the disk, a large blue airport symbol appears at the edge of the disk to indicate the direction of the airport. Tap this symbol to automatically recenter the disk on the airport.

Great Data Visualization App on Apple Vision Pro

A really good demonstration of the systems potential. In my personal opinion, to make it even better: 1) Allow the option to provide “friendly” names for the to/from airports, airlines and aircraft when getting flight details (e.g., Nashville rather than BNA etc.). I ended up opening a Safari window and searching codes but it would seem like it could be more user friendly. 2) Add a capability along the lines of “take me where something interesting is happening” (e.g., Takeoffs or Landings in Lukla, Nepal or Paro, Bhutan etc., Seaplane takeoff/landings in Vancouver, intense activity around a major airport like Atlanta or Heathrow etc.) 3) Enable zooming in or out of the areas covered.

Great feedback. We appreciate you taking the time! We have added the ability to zoom in and out of the airport area in our latest release.

Awesome Experience

Really fun app to kill some time in. It’s a lot of fun listening to the towers and watching the planes come in. Some features that would be cool to see:
- Planes more to real world scale
- Zoom in or out from the default airport map size
- Planes at gates/taxiing, not just the ones taking-off/landing/in-air
- Liveries on the planes

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. You can now zoom out to see a larger area or zoom in for more detail. More to come!

Fascinating, but incomplete

It’s truly a remarkable program. It’s amazing to be able to see the airport laid out in front of you on a giant circular plate. Interacting with the airplanes and flight is also amazing. Unfortunately, it’s missing a bunch of overseas airports, such as Paris, Charles de Gaulle, which would be amazing to be able to see in real time. More detail about the aircraft would be appreciated. It would also be nice to see the aircraft taxiing on the ground. I’d love to be able to zoom in and out. It would be great to hear the air traffic control radios. A great start.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to rate and give us feedback. Our apologies that you were unable to find the airports you wanted to see. We are continuing to refine the search and discovery through out the app. In the mean time an airport can almost always be found in the search with its ICAO identifier. In the case of Charles de Gaulle the ICAO identifier is "LFPG".
