Make the final edits. Frames is a RAW editor and catalogue for macOS. Review a shoot, compare photographs and edit your favourites. Work with Apple Photos and folders in one catalogue, with editing and image analysis on your Mac. FIND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS Add your Photos library, a folder or an external drive. Import from a memory card with duplicate checks and RAW+JPEG pairing. Search by detected content, visible text or your own keywords. Save searches and organise related photographs into sets. CHOOSE THE KEEPERS Review a shoot in four phases: Sweep, Rate, Inspect and Cleanup. Keep or reject photographs and add star ratings from the keyboard. Compare up to six photographs with linked panning, zoom to 400% and use focus peaking to check detail. Deletion happens only in Cleanup, after confirmation. SHAPE TONE AND COLOUR Adjust exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks and white balance. Use composite and RGB tone curves, an eight-band colour mixer and clarity, texture and dehaze. Crop and straighten, level a horizon automatically and apply lens corrections. Switch to Monochrome for colour filters, eight conversion bands and shadow and highlight toning. Add grain, vignette and halation. Apply an included look, save your own or import supported settings from Lightroom presets. Keep up to five treatments alongside ORIGINAL. MAKE LOCAL ADJUSTMENTS Draw radial, linear, brush and range masks. Create masks from detected subjects, sky, background, people and objects. Add or subtract shapes, refine their colour and brightness range, and soften edges. Heal or clone spots and strokes using nearby source pixels, or apply saved sensor-dust maps to a selection. EXPORT AND SHARE Export JPEG, HEIF, TIFF or PNG with your choice of size, colour space, metadata and file naming. Add a text or image watermark and save settings as a preset. Soft proof an export colour space before saving. For Photos photographs, enable publishing to send edited renderings back to Photos. Frames asks before the first publish; you can change the setting in the Photos source panel and use Revert to Original in Photos. Published edits sync when iCloud Photos is enabled. KEEP YOUR ORIGINALS Editing leaves original files unchanged. Ratings, verdicts and edit recipes are saved in Frames’ own catalogue on your Mac. No Frames account or subscription is required.
