Wow, they really hit this one out of the Park! I’m sooooo happy these folks put the energy & time into making such an app as this one! It’ll blow your mind that you can add ANY other streaming website not included with the basic 6 streaming sites they’ve already included. You want to watch Apple TV+? Just add it in the the other button & voila, there it is!. You want to add IDBm steaming site? So simple. Just put in the name of your favorite streaming sites, the URL and bingo, it’s right there! You can add any of your favorute streaming sites. No more opening a browser site, they're already there. A one stop shop. Truly amazing! No more adding user names & passwords, do it once & they’re already done. This is such a simple feat of genius you have to download and try it. Hat’s off to these folks for creating the evolution of the future of entertainment watching, steaming all in one app! They give it to you free, but ask you just once if you’d like to make a small donation to them for using it, now that I have test ran it, I’m going to give them some money for their brilliance. A true joy & an excellent HD experience, one click & you’re full screen on my 17 inch MacBook Pro. Put a pair of headphones on, put it on my chest & I’m automatically transformed to the theater without any buffering or bothering anyone else. This one is a MUST HAVE! Thanx you guys for programming the next generation of entertainment watching!! This App ROCKS!!!

Honestly, this is the only 3rd party streaming app that I've ever used, so it's possible there are others which are superior, but in general, this does what it ought to, and seems to do it pretty well. Netflix plays smoother, and looks better than it does when I stream using a browser application. The only real suggestion I woul have is the option to have a detached transport control (etc.). Would be great to be able to see the artist/track, like/dislike the track, etc. without having to toggle apps, or have the player taking up valuable screen real estate when I'm on a single display. Would be fantastic if it could be in the menu bar, but given that not even iTunes does that, that's probably a bit much to ask.In general I'm stoked on this app so far, will probably remain my main OSX media streamer for the foreseeable future.

I'll start off by saying that I almost gave 5 stars for this app; you won't find much better if you're looking for an easy-to-use streaming service on Mac. There is a reason it's so popular and highly rated. The majority of "problems" are really just preferences, like there are certain menus and toggles that I'd expect to be in different places or they do things I don't like/don't expect. Other people have mentioned them though, so I won't dwell on them. I'll just say that those are the small issues. At the end of the day, it's pretty easy switching from one streaming service to the next, much easier than doing it on my tv.My missing fifth star is because I've had a major issue lately. I don't know if it's a bug with the new update or what--I've had this app for over a month now and just started having this issue--but it's a pretty big issue. Whenever I go to load something on Netflix, it says there's an error. I selected the "wipe data" button, which did wipe my data, but that didn't fix the issue. I thought it was just Netflix, only to find out that it happens with every single streaming service I use. My next guess was that it was my WiFi that was messing everything up (Netflix said the issue wasn't a WiFi issue, just a troubleshooting issue, but I remained optimistic). I tested my WiFi and it works just fine. I then went onto the Netflix website to watch what I wanted to watch, and it worked just fine on there. This has led me to believe that this app is the issue. I restarted my computer earlier, but I'll now be restarting it and deleting/redownloading this app to see if it'll work after that. This is really a shame; I enjoy this app, but whatever the recent update did, it screwed everyting up.

I'm diggin it. I run my macbook pro with an extra monitor and this makes using my second screen for streaming easy. I've had a few issues with crashing or weird things happening when exiting or entering full screen, but otherwise this app is a simple and clean streaming beast. I can play any streaming service because at it's core, Friendly Streamer seems to be a basic and simplified internet browser with a focus on media playing. I like the pop up controls when in "full screen windowed mode" but I wish those control were the same everytime and just replaced all the streamers controls. Keep it up!
