I used to love the Furbo app but ever since they added the AI feature it’s absolutely terrible. Like others have noted, before you’d get a list of 15 second videos of your dog’s activities in the Home Screen right beneath where you click into the live feed. Now it’s an AI chat that takes up most of the screen and you can’t get rid of it to get the list of videos back. Believe it or not, I bought the camera to check on my dogs through the day, I have no interest in interacting with AI. The App is not anywhere near as user friendly as it used to be. However, my biggest complaint is with the new AI “features” that came with this update. My dogs were barking at the door and the camera started playing music to “calm them down” which only made them bark harder because they had no idea where the new sound was coming from. And then without any kind of prompting or permission from me it dispensed treats to the dogs, which started a fight because they have a tendency to resource guard and they were already wound up from the music. Whoever thought automatically dispensing treats and playing music was a good idea clearly does not have any experience with animals, especially reactive ones. That should be a feature to opt into rather than having it automatically happen. I’m very disappointed in the way they’re taking the app and I’ll be looking into replacing the Furbo with a different brand.

Got this for Christmas and tried it out a few days before writing a review but I saw problems immediately with the app. There are too many to mention but here are a few....I have no problem connecting via wifi at home. But when I'm not home, I have to turn off wifi and use data. No big deal but odd that it will only connect to wifi at home and app just spins if I'm at work. If I'm home, I don't need Furbo to give the dogs treats. Duh. Also, every time I open the app it forces me to give it a rating. Even before I used it the first time. You can't continue if you don't rate it. After a few times I started giving it one star and adding a comment to stop asking me. I did this a few times and it stopped forcing me to rate it. When it offers you premium services etc. you have no option to skip, you can't open the app unless you agree. There is no option to x out of the pop-ups. The app actually worked better before they made me take the "free for now" premium services. The bark alert is turned off because it sends it when anyone speaks or makes a noise in the same room as Furbo. Even though the alert shows as off, I get dozens a day. It's annoying because I wear an Apple Watch. The camera is decent, and the dogs love getting treats when I'm away. If the app weren't so buggy I would have nothing but great things to say about the product in general. I love the idea of it.

UPDATE: It worked amazingly for a week or so but has been back to being awful disconnecting multiple times a day. It only reconnects if I'm home to plug and unplug but even then. I do all the troubleshooting needed and it still fails me. I just know it's not a hardware issue and wish they would do something. Review: As most of the recent reviews state, I also had no issues since buying it July 2024 other than the occasional but rare connection issues that are bound to happen with any device. In recent weeks however, I have made sure the device is up to date yet the connection issues are extremely frequent. Multiple times a day I get the "Furbo offline" "Furbo back online" on its own without my resetting, however the offline lasts hours. Most of the time, I am able to reset it again in person and it will go back online but then go offline again. In my entire time with Furbo, it has never had such frequent issues until a few weeks ago and it clearly is not unique to just me. I have informed Furbo of this but their response was too generalized asking about distance to router, speed test, etc. but I know it's not my internet connection or distance. Hopefully they can figure out what the issue is across all our devices and fix it. I wouldn't mind reverting back to the pre-AI.

This app is amazingggg I love being able to see my fur babies from afar! The tracking system on it works great, it can even tell the difference between my pet bunnies! I use the app for my bunnies but label them as cats in the system which still works! It lets me know what they’re up to and notifies me about their individual behaviors. I love that I can playback the footage of their playtime though I wish it saved the whole day in more than just 15 second clips. I understand it would take a lot more storage in the system to accomplish that though so I’m not really complaining. I do wish they would make a category including rabbits though since it already works for them. Other than that this app is perfect! Just read some other reviews on connection issues… you guys must have bad wifi or something cause I’ve never had an issue with it since I started using it a year and a half ago. Don’t blame the company for your slow data. It lets you zoom in to see your pets, alerts you if people are in the house, can tell the difference between humans and animals. It’s a really good app.
