Good browser, has lots of potential.

I see this becoming pretty big one day. But it’s too early still. Pages load slowly compared to other browsers.Also the first time I opened the app the page wouldn’t load at all. After a restart it began to work.Other than that I have no issues. It’ll get there soon, don’t give up!

I've been needing a userscript-compatible mobile browser for a very long time now, but there are still a lot of dire problems.The plus side is that the userscript works fine. But...Firstly, notice I said userSCRIPT. Not scriptS. Singular. You can only save one script at a time; the previous one will be deleted shortly after if you try to save a second one. It doesn't warn you about this ahead of time.Secondly, the script editor is a nightmare. There's no way to select more than one word at a time, which is bad if you have an offline userscript file that you want to paste, because it takes over a full minute to manually erase the things that are in a new script letter by letter. This is the worst of the problems in my eyes, especially when coupled with the "maximum one script" issue because it makes swapping out that one script needlessly difficult.The issues aren't just with scripts, either. I find the interface very uncomfortable, and I can't do many things that even normal browsers are capable of. For instance, editing bookmarks. It doesn't matter if the page has a non-descriptive or non-unique title; the only options you have with them The dark mode is also glitchy. It likes to switch the background to light mode but keep the text in dark mode. I have to restart the app entirely when that happens, or I'll be stuck with white text on white graphics.But the positives are, along with scripts being functional when I can actually get them installed, the customer service is one I've been pleased with. It's for this reason that I'm really hoping the problems I have will be addressed.

You can also consider hosting your script on GitHub or your site and setting @updateURL on the script's metadata, then you will be able to edit the script on your desktop and sync it to the Gear via updating the script.Would you like to feedback more details to us about the dark mode problem and what do you mean about saving one script at a time?We may consider adding a new feature to edit the bookmark title.If you have any more questions, you can contact us directly via contact@gear4.app and we will please answer and improve.Thank you.

DUDE what about my PRIVACY
Thank you for the detailed explanation Installed open visited a few pages (7) exited app but saved 3 of the pages as bookmarks in my iPhone storage I now saw this app taking up 452mb of storage which seems insane only using it once for 10 minutes but even more problematic was after offloading the app it still took up 308mb of space? Why so huge and why not a way to clear the cache? Maybe there is but I couldn’t find. Sadly also very overpriced just for a script browser. Many browsers do what this browser charges a monthly fee for which again is just out and out pure greed 🙈🥲👎

You can clear up the cache just from the Settings.We have over 250,000 built-in content rules for ad and tracking protection, which may take up around 200 MB of space for the best filtering effect. App data and system cache typically require about 50 - 100 MB, which is common for most browser apps.Gear Pro offers not only Userscript Add-ons but also advanced professional tools and features. This browser is absolutely not unique in any way. Everything it can do, safari can do either baked in or with extensions. The only thing that makes this browser truly unique is with web dev tools baked in - no desktop required. The kicker is the paywall is a SUBSCRIPTION. I would pay for a one time fee, but if I would have had access to my laptop instead of my iPad, I would have NEVER subscribed to a *web browser*. This is not AOL/Netscape days, there’s hundreds of free and open source browser options. I cannot recommend this browser unless you absolutely must debug your website on iPad/iPhone. Even then, it’s best to wait. Try Inspect Browser, one time fee and has all the features you need for development.
