Ghostless is a screenwriting app for the Mac with a script reader built in. When you ask, it reads your scenes and points out what isn't working, the way a careful reader would: a line that says the feeling out loud, a setup that never pays off, a character who speaks after leaving the room. It asks questions instead of rewriting. It never writes a word of your script.
WRITE
• Formats as you type: Return and Tab put the next line in the right shape, and names and places you've already used complete themselves.
• Page breaks that match the printed page, with (MORE) and (CONT'D) where they belong.
• Fountain files, FDX import and export, and PDF export, with watermarked copies for each reader.
• An outline you can drag, beats you can plan before the scenes exist, Focus Mode, and dark mode.
READ, WHEN YOU ASK
• Lines that say the feeling out loud, or explain what both people already know.
• Slips a careful reader would catch: a setup that never pays off, someone speaking after they left, a heading that says INT. on a scene outdoors, a name spelled two ways.
• One question about each scene, written by people, never a rewrite.
• A read of your first ten pages: is it clear whose story it is, and what they want?
• A line along the bottom showing roughly how tense each scene reads, page by page.
REWRITE
• Snapshots of earlier drafts, and Compare to see what changed.
• Keep producer notes, or your own, beside the pages they're about.
• Follow a character or an object through the script and see where they go missing.
ALSO
• A mood board for each script, and a lookbook PDF to send.
• A table read in your Mac's own voices, one for each character.
• A daily page goal.
FREE TO WRITE, SUBSCRIBE FOR THE COACH
Ghostless is free, and everything but the coach works without paying. Try the coach on your own script first: it reads the opening and about 20 scenes free. Then subscribe, monthly or yearly, and it reads every scene, and reads them again after you rewrite. Cancel any time in your App Store account settings.
YOUR SCRIPT
Your scripts stay on your Mac. When the coach reads, the scenes it reads go through Ghostless's server to TypeSafe's Jev, an AI reading service. Ghostless keeps none of it, and TypeSafe doesn't train on it. The coach is off until you turn it on.

The coach is now a subscription, monthly or yearly, and the free trial reads the opening and about 20 scenes of your own script. If you bought the coach before, it stays unlocked.
Report a coach note you think is wrong: every note has a flag button, and Report This Note… when you right-click it. It opens a mail to us with the note in it, and nothing is sent until you send it.
