Very pleasantly Surprised

I started out with the free version to build checklists for my airplane. I am a slow learner, but had this app figured out in about 30 min.

I didn’t think I would need the subscriptions service, but then I saw all the many different ways people were creating and using the this app. I bought the Standard subscription thinking that was all I was going to need. Nope, needed the Pro version and it is worth every dime in my opinion!

Requires $50/yr subscription to be of any use

I wanted to like this app and understood there was a paid upgrade to it to get access to professionally created checklists and other available premium content.

I am alright with that, I understand that software development takes time and money. Unfortunately the ability to really do anything much with this app (such as create your own checklist) seems to be locked up in a $50/yr subscription. This is not an in-app-purchase but rather handled with the app company directly through a signup process on their website.

I wish there were limited abilities for free (such as keeping 3 checklists with fewer than 3 sections each) and a tier below $50 a year.

Sorry, for an app to be consistently invested in and updated, there has to be a cost. If you really explore all of the capabilities of MiraCheck, it goes way above and beyond other checklist apps out there, and the ultimate goal is a virtual safety pilot, not just a checklist. Slide over your favorite nav app, many different view types and item types, CheckBar, QuickBar and Big Check Overlay, rich text in labels, full webviews to overlay more rich content, filters, branching and linking to easily build decision logic and a robust web-based editor that can be used on PC's, tablets and phones. Access to open-source and premium content from CheckMate. The aviation community is a small niche and it is not financially feasible to give it away or have a cost much lower. We tried it for the first two years and the business model did not work. We are trying everything we can to keep it going and if you look at our history we constantly improve the product. The 4.5 stars is because the people that understand it love it. The typical negative reviews are usually because it costs money, not about its capabilities. It takes a community to get behind something to keep it going (especially in niche markets) and $50 to $100/yr as a pilot to have a a virtual safety pilot a tap or voice command away that can be completely customized to your workflow that really can improve safety should be something considered. There is a 30-day trial to explore all capabilities of the app to see if it lives up to its value.

Great potential but interface is too sensitive

I am a user of the now retired Checkmate app, and I really liked it. I think potential of this application is great, however it is much too sensitive on the interface, while trying to do a pre-flight, the interface kept bumping over to a different category, it was so frustrating that it almost made it unusable. I didn’t have this issue with Checkmate.

Also when I would check an item about 20% of the time it would say “Skip” even though it put a check mark there (And I didn’t skip it) so it caused me to alway have to double check on things.

Sorry you are having issues and we would love to hear more about your experience. Some tips that may help you out. Under the Appearance menu there is a Checkbar that you can customize. Placing on the left and resizing to accommodate your thumb makes it very easy to rapidly move through the checklist with large Check, Skip, Locate, and Emergency buttons. Also try the Vertical layout also under the Appearance menu. This stacks the sections vertically instead of horizontally, which on a phone layout can work better. There is also a Big Check Overlay on the menu that may help you which turns the entire screen into a big checkbox where you can tap anywhere to check the selected item and press-and-hold to skip the selected item. This is very useful during a preflight walk-around or in turbulence.

As far as your 20% Skip issue it would be very helpful if you can share a screencast of what you are experiencing. We are not aware of an issue like that but will definitely resolve if there is a bug you have found.

After following these tips, please reconsider your review if you are satisfied.
